New found endeavors have lured Zach Braff away from Scrubs, and he's confirmed the news that he'll soon be leaving the show. After years of playing the clumsy Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian on the series, Braff claims that the eighth season of the hit comedy will indeed be his last. The rumors regarding his departure from the program have plagued fans ever since the story circulated. Now that Braff has finally proven the tales himself, what's next?"I want to take piano lessons, I want to study at university, I want to travel, I want to do other parts, make another movie. So it was time to branch out and start a new chapter," said Braff.
Apparently, Braff isn't alone with his decision. Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and co-star Judy Reyes have also expressed their intent on leaving the show. Many might think that next year's eighth season will be the last of the Emmy-winning show. However, the comedy and drama of Scrubs retains the possibility of the show's continuity.
