After running past the deadline, the two companies reached a deal to keep all the networks on the air. Viacom apparently granted a one hour extension before midnight and shortly thereafter, announced they had come to terms.
They're expectecd to release the details of the agreement over the next week or so.
"We're happy to be renewing that partnership for the benefit of their customers and our loyal viewers," Viacom's president and CEO Philippe Dauman. "It's gratifying that we could reach an agreement that benefits not only our audiences but that is also in the best interest of both of our companies."
So rest up from last night's celebration and turn on some Comedy Central...or MTV...or whatever. Happy New Year!
