Have you spent the summer looking forward to the wild and crazy antics of the Swingtown gang every friday night? Well if so, then you know tonight is the season finale and as of right now, possibly the series finale as well as CBS has not officially renewed the series yet. Have no fear though, there's others like you and they're fighting for a recount!
You can help save the show by signing this petition, and don't think you're digital John Hancock won't have any effect because they're listening. Swingtown execs and CBS are currently looking for a way to keep the series alive and shopping it around to cable channels. Most likely option is CBS's own Showtime.
Mike Kelley, creator and executive producer of the partner-swapping 70s drama said this in an article:
"'Swingtown' is my priority, and I believe there is a home for the show, hopefully it's on CBS," UTA-repped Kelley said. "But if not, we'd be happy just to be able to continue to tell these characters' story."
It's obvious this show would thrive on a cable network. I have a feeling we'd be catching a much longer, racier glimpse into the Decker's basement. However, all I really care about is whether or not Susan and Roger will 'fess up or keep their feelings for eachother under the covers.
Maybe we'll find out tonight in the finale! Tune in at 10pm eastern on CBS.
Oh, and keep your eye out for Mike Kelley's latest creation, Bi-Coastal which is already set to air on Showtime and stars our old fave from Will & Grace, Sean Hayes. The show will follow your average guy with a wife and kids in California....and a boyfriend stowed a way in New York. Sounds good to me!

I just read this morning that Showtime is interested. I think it might be the best move for the show, giving it more freedom andless demand for huge ratings. I wonder if SHO has room in their schedule, seems like they are bulging with original programming. I like the idea, though.
I love the show so much I created a new blog to provide the latest scoop on whether it will be renewed!
