Rosie O'Donnell is ready to hit the small screen again with "Rosie's Variety Show", a television revival from NBC. It will premiere as a one hour special the night before Thanksgiving (Nov. 26th) and if enough viewers watch, they'll turn it into a series. The special is going to feature celebs, musical acts, comedy skits and of course prizes for both the live and home audiences.
The twist? It's going to be live and according to one NBC rep, this will "reinvent" the idea we have of variety shows and it should be interesting because there are few entertainers willing to go live these days.
Co-executive producer David Friedman says, ""This is a genre that everybody is anticipating is going to come back. Rosie sort of invented the daytime variety show. Without question, Rosie is the right person to bring this back."
I know I'll watch, but only because it's live and I expect that would be entertaining with Rosie at the helm.
