'Monk' Final Season - Sharona's Back!

Bitty Schram has officially finalized a deal to reprise her role as Sharona on "Monk" for the eighth and last season.

If you remember, Schram suddenly left the show in the middle of season three apparently over a contract dispute, but producers insisted it was their idea to take the show in a new direction.  In the story line they explained that Sharona moved back to NJ with her son and ex-husband,  Trevor.

Either way, it clearly doesn't matter now.

"We couldn't think of a better way to help wrap up the series than with the return of Bitty's character," said Shalhoub. "Bringing some closure to Sharona is long overdue."

No word yet on how they intend on bringing her back but EW.com's sources say it will be a quick visit, most likely just one episode.

I thoroughly enjoyed quirky Monk played off Sheronas self assured assistant. When she left the show - I tried to like the new girl - but it was just too bland. I'll be back for Bitty's closure episode - and hope to see her in a show of her own someday. Her unique chemistry with Monks' character - was the best part of the series for me. This news is a mixture sadness and elation.

I personally like natalie better she brought new ideals to the table and monk and her seem better suited togather than sharona. Id rather have monk and Natalie togather. But I also wish Monk wasn't going off the air i like Monk its a great show.

I hope that Monk stays on the air, it's one of the few programs on my "must watch" list and I never miss an episode, even if I have to record it for delayed watching.

It's one of the few programs I never miss, even if I have to record it for later viewing. It would be nice to have Sharona back as "second banana" but Natally does a very acceptable job.
I would not stop watching if Natally were replaced but definatly would stop if Tony Shaloub was replaced.

I am so so so so SAD that MONK is going off the air.Watching the show makes me laugh and you always have a good feeling after watcing it. The whole cast is wonderful and will be missed very much. I would Love for it to stay on the air. Sad they always replace good shows for dumb ones.
