Ghost Hunters Is College Bound!

Sci Fi Channel has ordered a pilot for what would be the second spinoff of the reality franchise Ghost Hunters.  This time they're headin' to school for the tentatively named "Ghost Hunters: College Edition."

The new show will have groups of college students traveling the country in search of the paranormal.  They will be guided by an experienced investigator, though it's still not known if cast members from either of the 2 existing shows will join them.

The first spinoff, Ghost Hunters International, ran it's first 7 episode season this past winter/spring and was a big hit, drawing in an average of 2.4 million viewers, breaking ratings records for the Sci Fi channel.  It has already been booked for a season 2.

In case you don't know, Ghost Hunters started back in 2004 and follows Jay and Grant, two Rhode Island plumbers who hunt ghosts in their spare time.   The idea was born when they has their own personal experiences and wanted to use their boiler room skills to debunk any bumps in the night and set spooked families at ease.  Sometimes when they're busy trying to explain the problem, they find evidence of paranormal activity.

A skeptic?  Well these two are not quick to call a place haunted.  You'd be surprised how much it takes.

Ghost Hunters airs on Wednesday nights at 9 on Sci Fi.
