A&E Gives 'Inked' a Spinoff

A&E has given the greenlight and a 13 episode order for a new reality series, "Tattoo Highway",  a spinoff of the network's tattoo show "Inked."

In "Highway", Thomas Pendelton (star of "Inked") and his wife will turn a 70's tour bus into a traveling tattoo parlor and travel across the country giving tattoos to customers.  Some of the cities included in the tour are Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Salt Lake City.

"All the other series have been based in tattoo parlors," said executive producer Bob Horowitz. "Here the premise is this is the first tattoo parlor on wheels, and he goes where the stories are. Imagine all the things that can happen when you take something like this on the road and all the things that can happen."

In the new show you'll see Pendelton mix the cremated ashes of a deceased wife into ink for a portrait on her husband and in another episode he'll use UV ink for a customer wanting a constant reminder of his mother.

The 30 minute show will premiere sometime this spring.
