Michael Chiklis to Produce New Drama

Michael ChiklisI don't know about you, but ever since that incredible 'Shield' finale I've been wondering what will become of some of my favorite actors.  Most specifically Michael Chiklis.

Turns out Chiklis will be taking a break from in front of the camera and executive producing a new project for FX called "House of Cards".  The show is inspired by the Bernie Madoff Wall Street scandal where he was arrested and charged with securities fraud, a scam referred to as a Ponzi scheme.  The series will follow a man involved in just such a scheme.

The project is close to Chiklis since he and his wife were victims themselves of a Ponzi scheme last year.

"I have been very passionate about this project," Chiklis said.  "This is something I want to fast track and get done.  I think its time has come, and someone's going to get out there with it."

No writers are attatched yet but I'll be sure to keep a close eye on this story.

This could be really interesting. I've read a little about Madoff and am curious as to how someone pulls a scam this huge on people who seem to be too savvy to fall for such a scheme. Glad Chiklis is doing it (though if he wanted to do a Shield sequel, it would be fine with me).
