8:00 - Show opens with bizarre elevator music and actor's talking about how they became actors.

8:05 - Rosario Dawson and Kiefer are the first presenters and they look fantastic!

8:20 - Great little montage for the "trailblazers" of film.

8:23 - Claire Danes comes out to present making me wonder if she's just been hiding in a box waiting to do this.  Where's she been lately?  Also, big surprise (not at all), 30 Rock takes best ensemble.   I wonder if anyone else even had a chance?

8:29 I've decided that Greg Kinnear needs to be a radio guy.  No no, that's not a joke about his looks.  He has a great voice that I never noticed before.

8:31 - When Kate takes best supporting actress, I start to wonder if I'm watching a repeat of the Golden Globes.

8:40 - Genuinely surprised and SO happy to see Hugh Laurie take best actor for a drama series.  He soooo deserves it!

8:43 - Amy Poehler and John Krasinski (Jim on "The Office") do a hilarious "dramatic" scene while announcing the best female actor in a drama series.  They crack me up!

8:52 - The cast of Mad Men steps on stage and most of me wishes they were all dressed up in period clothes. (not to say the don't look fabulous because every one of them is flawless tonight)  Oh well, can't win 'em all!

9:01 - Forest Whitaker comes out to present the Life Achievement award to James Earl Jones.  Love him, even know him (he lived in my town growing up) and glad he's getting it. However, I think I'll use this time to go get snacks.

9:41 - I do believe Brad Pitt just sucked his teeth while presenting "Benjamin Button" as one of the noms for best film.  Really Brad?  REALLY? Tooth sucking?

9:50ish - Katie Holmes presented and we were all transfixed by her crazy eyes.  Apparently so transfixed that we didn't notice her nipples were askew. Thanks to the multiple twitterers, I know what I missed.

What is this opening? We get it, you're an actor.

NO kidding! And that music just killed me.

Tina! Brava!

Not sure about that dress though. Not flattering at all.

Oh, shout out to I want to go to there!

Yeah that dress is a miss. I love that she got that line from her daughter! Hilarious!

Kate W- AMAZing dress. Wow. But, I really don't like that she is getting supporting awards for the Reader. She is clearly the lead. Would have voted for Amy.

Jane Krakowski, I think your dress is on backwards...

Claire Danes hair made me a little nuts. As did Jon Hamm's. But we are still in love ;)

I'm sorry, but Hamm's hair can do no wrong for me. I'm just that much of a sucker!

I think I'm alone on the hair. Another opinion in the house. I think he needs a trim and it looks like he's been wearing a hat, with a weird crease at the back. But really? I'll deal with it. ;)

Did the announcer just say "Christine" Applegate??

Am more in love with Hugh Laurie now. I didn't think that was possible.

This was an impossible category. Other than Shatner, I would have been happy with any.

I completely agree and was genuinely surprised to see him take it. I mean, he totally deserves it but I didnt think that was how it would pan out.

Sally, enough.

Actors awarding actors is, well, a little actory at times.

Best Ensemble cast- another impossible choice

But I'm thrilled with the choice. Maybe it should have been a 3 or 4 way tie.

Im so glad that Meryl Streep won the Award! she deserves it! x

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm certain she deserved the win. She's flawless. Yay, Meryl.
