Hillary Duff will be joining the cast of "Gossip Girl" in a guest-star appearance.

Duff will play "a movie star looking for a typical college experience" named Olivia Burke.  She'll enroll at NYU and room up with Vanessa (Jessice Szohr), the hipster from Brooklyn.

What drama will she cause?   Well since she's rooming with V, of course she'll be sparking up a little romance with Dan (Penn Badgley), the aspiring novelist.

"Gossip" returns with season three on September 14th and you can see Duff's entrance on October 5th.

It's not official yet but chances are Neil Patrick Harris of "How I Met Your Mother" will be hosting the 61st annual Emmys this fall.

Harris himself has been nominated for 2 Emmys and recently (and successfully) hosted the Tony Awards last month and the TVLand Awards in April.

The Emmys will air on September 20th.  Hopefully Harris will bring in new viewers since the award show's ratings dropped to an all time low last year while others (Oscars, MTV Awards, etc) viewership's increased.

Yep, you read that right.  Katie Holmes thinks she's got the moves to show off on the reality hit "So You Think You Can Dance."

Holmes along with judges Nigel Lithgoe and Carrie Ann Inaba launched the new nonprofit Dizzy Feet and she'll be performing on the July 23rd show (also the 100th episode) in order to promote it.  The foundation supports dance education and dancers who can't afford training.

Holmes will be paying homage to Judy Garland with a "Get Happy" routine that she will both sing and dance.  The performance will be taped, not live.

Sandra "Pepa" Denton of Salt n Pepa and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas of TLC are getting their own reality series (currently untitled) on VH1.  Also, The Entertainer from "I Love NY" will be getting his own show called, of course, "The Entertainer" where we get to see inside his life and basement bachelor pad.

The network has also ordered up season 7 of "Celebrity Fit Club" and season 2 of "Sober House with Dr. Drew."  On top of that, VH1 has already ordered the new Jessica Simpson series "The Price of Beauty," "The OCD Project" following people with the disorder all living together, "The Aspen Project" which is a docusoap in one of the richest places in the world and a new one from "Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino following her life and career.

"VH1 has generated a lot of buzz over the years by evolving from an outlet that commented on pop culture to a brand that creates," said Jeff Olde, executive vp, original programming & production, VH1. "With these projects, we're continuing to evolve, building on our core storytelling expertise to delve deeper into personalities and issues that connect with millions of our viewers."
