'Southland' Canceled

NBC has officially put the kibosh on it's police drama "Southland" just two weeks before it was supposed to premiere it's second season.   Production was shutdown after just six episodes were filmed.

The drama was originally set to air on Friday's during premiere week in September but was pushed to October 23rd just before the season began.  "Dateline NBC" will now be running in it's Friday at 9pm time slot.

Good news for fans though.  It will be shopped out to other networks so keep your fingers crossed.

"I'm disappointed that NBC no longer has the time periods available to support the kind of critically-acclaimed series that was for so many years, a hallmark of their success," producer John Wells said. "We remain extremely proud of 'Southland' and are actively looking for another home for the series."
