John Lithgow Joins 'Dexter'

Emmy winner John Lithgow will be joining the cast for all 12 episodes of next season's "Dexter."

Lithgow will take on the role of Walter Simmons, the latest serial killer to strike the Miami area and a new nemesis for Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall).  The character is described has a "mild-mannered suburbanite who has been living a dual life as one of America's most prolific serial killers."

His nickname?  The "Trinity Killer" due to his tendency to kill in threes. 

Naturally, Dexter will be brought on to assist in the investigation and becomes fascinated with the killer.

Season 4 premiere's September 27th on Showtime.
