NatGeo Renews 'Dog Whisperer'

National Geographic Channel's popular "Dog Whisperer" has been renewed for a sixth season.

The Friday night staple starring dog guru Cesar Millan has been granted 30 more episodes, which will roll out sometime later this year.

"Cesar's passion and dedication to the well-being of all dogs is truly inspiring," NGC executive vp content Steve Burns said. "We could not be more excited about extending this important franchise on our network."

Last week, the Mexico-born Millan became a U.S. citizen. The show celebrated its 100th episode in the fall.

I don't have a dog but I love this show. Hooray for more Cesar!

I watch Dog Whisperer during any free time I have as I record all episodes. I use these shows as a study tool as I have just decided to take in a rescue mixed breed 4 years after losing my son in a tragic accident and then losing my 13 year old German Shephard. I was very anxious about this as my heart was too broken to love again. My new puppy, Chief,(6 mos. old) has learned to recognize Cesar's voice and watches with me. Thank You Ceasar for giving me hope that maybe I can love again.
