When THR asked if the show was "on the bubble" for a renewal, Angela Bromstad, entertainment president, said no. The network currently plans to order 18-20 episodes for Fall 2009.
Although the action-drama has lost viewers this season, it's still tied with "The Office" as the top-rated among 18-49 this season. Also, "Heroes" acts as a nice lead in to the new sci-fi pilot "Day One" about a group of survivors in the wake of a catastrophic global event.
"Day One' is a big event and we're looking at that to come into the 'Heroes' spot," Bromstad said. "It's right now being looked at as a 13-episode run -- something people could commit to and we could make a big splash with."
So unless "Heroes" takes a super plunge in ratings, it looks like the show is here to stay.
