The show, in case you don't remember, revolves around a group of 20-somethings living in the L.A. neighborhood of Melrose. Original writers Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin will be executive producing the newish series.
You might be surprised to hear Guggenheim is attached to the project since he's well known for directing darker dramas like "24" and "Deadwood", but back in the day one of his projects was "Party of Five", making a little more sense of the situation.
Also in pilot news, Jeffrey Nachmanaoff (writer of "The Day After Tomorrow"), will be making his small screen directing debut for the new Fox drama pilot "Masterwork" which is said to be a "Da-Vinci Code" like adventure.
Zosia Mamet, daughter of playwright David Mamet, will be starring in Fox's remake of "Absolutely Fabulous".
Jason George ("Eli Stone") and Sarah Drew ("Everwood") have joined the cast of ABC's new pilot "Inside the Box". George will play an on-camera correspondant and Drew will be the new peon in the show which revolves around a female news producer at the Washington network news bureau.
