"Battlestar" to the Big Screen

SciFi's hit series "Battlestar Galactica" is about to wrap it up, but have no fear die hard fans!  Universal is in talks with Glen A. Larson to write and produce a big screen script!

The show originally aired back in '78 in the wake of "Star Wars."  The story revolves around a human civilization living on a series of 12 planets that are attacked and decimated by robots called Cylons.  The survivors go in search of a mythic 13th planet aboard the starship Galactica.

In 2003, SciFi ordered up a 3 hour miniseries which later became a regular series on the network.

The movie will have no connection to the series and will relaunch the story in a new medium.  But don't worry, characters like Adama, Starbuck and Baltar will remain.
