What's Brewin' in TV - '60 Minutes' Nabs First Obama Interview, Some Cancellations and More

  • President-elect Barack Obama has his first TV interview coming up since the election and it will be on this Sunday's "60 Minutes".  Obama is no stranger to the show, having done multiple interviews with them prior to the election, including an entire hour dedicated to him back on Sept. 21.  source
  • I've seen a lot of people saying "Prison Break" has jumped the shark (I happen to agree having dropped the show from my tivo mid-way through season 2) and now it appears Fox might be listening.  Rumor is that the actors have been notified of an extended production schedule for 2 additional episodes and people are speculating the add-ons will be the grand finale for the series.  source
  • NBC decided to pull the plug on freshman show "My Own Worst Enemy" and sophmore drama "Lipstick Jungle".  Personally I'm pretty bummed about both of these, 'Jungle' more so.  I was surprisingly into the story line and will definitely be disappointed to see it go.  No word yet one whether they'll keep airing the shows that have been completed or if they'll be tossing us some reruns in their slots.  source
  • It's not all cancelations today.  Sci Fi has decided to renew it's brand new series "Sanctuary" for a second round. Incase you didn't know, "Sanctuary" is the first TV series to use live actors against completely virtual sets.  The fantasy story follows Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping), "a scientist who holds the secrets of a clandestine population."  source
