Despite the poor early reviews, Kath & Kim seems to have made a good impression on someone since NBC decided yesterday to give it a full season. According to this article, the ratings have slipped a bit, but the show has manages to keep all of the My Name is Earl viewers in the 18-49 age bracket. With its 4 shows so far, Kath & Kim has managed to average a 2.6 rating and 6 million viewers.
"'Kath & Kim' is a show we love and believe in," NBC's exec vp Teri Weinberg said. "We have incredible confidence in the creative auspices of this show and we believe it's a perfect fit with our Thursday-night comedies."
I was really looking forward to watching this show myself, but Survivor and Ugly Betty have always taken precedence in my Tivo on Thursday nights. Guess I'll have to catch it online sometime.
Also recently picked up is American Dad for a 5th season and Samantha Who? for a full season.
So, what about you? Do you watch Kath & Kim? Are you one of the viewers happy to see a pickup?
