Helio Castroneves, Indy 500 racing champ and winner of the 5th season of Dancing with the stars, is in a heap of trouble for tax evasion. He along with his sister Katiucia and lawyer Alan Miller are facing charges for "hatching a tax-dodging scheme using an offshore shell corporation based in Panama to hide upwards of $5.5 million from the Internal Revenue Service."
Apparently in one instance, Castroneves claimed that he made $200,000 when working for a Brazilian trading company when in fact he raked in a cool $2 million.
IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman said, "This case sends a clear message that the IRS is committed to vigorously enforcing the tax laws and stopping offshore tax evasion."
All three involved can face up to 35 years in prison if they are convicted on all counts.
