ABC has officially greenlighted a new comedy pilot from Bill Lawrence (Scrubs creator) along with Kevin Biegel (Scrubs writer), Cougar Town.The show will focus on Courtney Cox who will play a newly single, 40 year old mom with a 17 year old son.
"Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free," said Lawrence, who first worked with Cox when he was a writer on "Friends." "People don't do the reality of it, and there is a real comedy area about a woman who is talking about Botox, about having sex with the lights on and how her body is changing."
Although I am a big fan of Courtney Cox and would hope she'd have the sense to take on an interesting project, I'll let you know when I find out what the difference is between this and say, Desperate Housewives or Lipstick Jungle.
