Chapter 10
Gwen stared out the window of the luxurious Hotchkiss private
jet. Although her life was so crazy at the moment she sighed at the thought of her new found happiness.
*Flashback*
Gwen smoothed her dress out and sighed to herself.
‘I can’t believe I’m doing this. I’ve never done something
so....so....not me!’ she thought.
She knew it was what she wanted more than anything and
although it wasn’t the way she wanted it to be it was the only way it was possible.
She slowly walked into the garden. Thats when she saw
him. Her breath caught in her throat and tears began to form.
He walked over to her and kissed her gently on the nose.
“Where are we?” she whispered looking around at her
surroundings.
“A butterfly garden. I know how much you loved them
and I figured this would be perfect.” Hank said leading her over to the arch of the garden.
“Are you sure Gwen?” Hank said.
“Yes, I love you so much.”
“Do you Henry Alan Bennett take Gwendolyn Lorae Hotchkiss
to be your wife?” The preacher said.
“I do.”
“Do you Gwendolyn Lorae Hotchkiss take Henry Alan Bennett
to be your husband?”
“I do.”
“By the power vested in me I now pronounce you man and
wife.” The preacher said proudly.
Gwen and Hank smiled at each other lovingly.
“You can kiss the bride!!”
Without hesitation Hank lifted Gwen up off her toes
and kissed her.
“I love you Mrs. Bennett.” Hank whispered on her lips.
“And I you Mr. Bennett.”
*End Flashback*
Gwen stared at the gorgeous pear shaped diamond ring and
the golden wedding band that sat on her finger.
‘I need all of my strength to get through this. I don’t
care if my family or Ethan don’t understand I love him and I will be with him forever.’ Gwen reassured herself.
With tears falling down her cheeks she took the two rings
of her finger and placed them on the gold chain that adorned her neck. She tucked the chain inside her blouse.
Then she placed Ethan’s engagement ring back on her finger.
“Damn my father!”
Theresa packed up her last suitcase and sat it in front
of her apartment door.
“I’ve got everything packed now I just have to call a cab.”
She said out loud as she reached for her phone.
Then her cell phone began to ring.
“Hello?”
“Theresa? It’s Anna. I’ve got something big!”
“Well, Anna can it wait? I have to catch my train and....”
“No T this is really big! I have a client here who needs
a dress made in a week and is willing to pay top dollar for it!”
“Why in a week?” Theresa said as her business tone kicked
in.
“Well, it’s sort of a quick arrangement wedding and this
is a VERY wealthy client and when they say top dollar I have a pretty good feeling that this could give us the
rest of business we need to expand to Paris sooner than we thought!”
“A week though? I have those wedding dress designs in the
office right?”
“Yep. Just at least post-pone your trip for a day in order
to finalize designs, patterns, materials, etc.”
“I guess I can do that. Whats the name of the client?”
“Rebecca Hotchkiss, she needs the dress for her daughter
Gwen.”
Gwen stood in front of the Crane mansion and lightly knocked
on the door.
Pilar answered the door, “Ms. Gwen it’s so good to see
you. Ethan has just arrived home he’s in his room.”
“Thank you Pilar.” Gwen said politely as she walked up
the tall stairs of the mansion.
She walked in front of the door to his room. She couldn’t
believe that for her whole life she could love the same person but not find true love with him.
“Ethan?” Gwen said walking into his room.
Ethan was standing in the corner of the room obviously
lost in his own little world
She walked a little closer to him and noticed that he was
staring at a picture. In the picture, was a very beautiful woman with long brunette hair and big brown eyes. She
was standing in front of a gigantic water fountain with the most dreamiest smile on her face.
“Who is she?” Gwen whispered.
Ethan dropped the picture and the frame shattered into
pieces.
“Gwen!”
