olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
whole head of garlic, minced
3 or 4 bay leaves
2 tbsp oregano
2 tbsp basil
2 tbsp salt
2-12 oz cans tomato paste
4-24 oz cans tomato puree
2-24 oz cans whole tomatoes

cover bottom, add onions, garlic and bell pepper. Lightly brown in oil. Add tomato paste, puree and whole tomatoes.
Stir well. Add all other ingredients and stir well. Add 2 cups water. Let simmer at least 5 hours (the longer it
cooks, the better it is).
Meatballs
1 lb hamburger
4 cloves of garlic
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
1 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 cup parmesan cheese
vegetable oil
Combine hamburger, garlic, oregano, basil, bread crumbs
and parmesan cheese. Shape into small balls, and fry in vegetable oil until browned on all sides.
Remarks: a) The smell of the sauce is an aphrodisiac! You've been warned... ;^) b) You'll have sauce for all winter
long... This recipe makes a HUGE quantity. 3) We freeze the sauce, but we make fresh meatballs on the day we eat
the spaghetti.
