Sooo confused...

My doctor called today. He thinks I should see a breast specialist. He got my results today and he said does not know much about breast health issues . I told him that they told me yesterday it looks like a Hematoma . They did the mammogram and the ultrasound and the Radiologist wants me to come back in 6 weeks to see if it is healed up. My doctor still thinks I should see a breast specialist . So now I am confused. Wouldn't they have told me yesterday if I need to worry and see a breast specialist instead of having me come back in 6 weeks for another mammogram ? I was all happy ready to enjoy Easter and now I am worried again. Arrrgh! Right now I am just a worried mess!

Easier said than done, but try not to worry. My doctor scared the life out of me when he called in September to have me schedule an ultrasound on my liver ASAP. Just two days before that, the nurse practitioner that takes care of my diabetes said my enzymes were slightly elevated, but nothing to worry about. I was convinced I had liver cancer, but it was simply a fatty liver. Then that's when they saw the "spot" on my kidney. Again, I worried about kidney cancer. But, it was a benign cyst. Sometimes doctors err on the side of precaution.

I will keep you in my prayers and will pray again for peace. I'm so sorry that you are going through this. But, let's believe it's just a precautionary measure simply because your doctor doesn't know that much about breast health.

Don't worry. Your doctor is doing the right thing. My doctor also sent me to a breast specialist once just to be sure. In cases like these, especially where there is a history, your doctor wants to cover all bases. You have a good and caring doctor. You will be fine!!

Will be including you in my Easter prayers. As the others have said, your doctor is not a specialist, so he just wants to make sure that everything is OK. My family doctor had me convinced that I had Ovarian cancer, but when I saw a GYN doctor, it was just a cyst. Sending you positive thoughts and prayers.

I agree with everyone else, your doctor is doing the right thing. It's best to just see the specialist and let them tell you if it's a hematoma or not. Your Dr is protecting you, and himself as well. He needs to be 100% sure before closing the door on this issue. I will keep you in my prayers that all is fine!

Thank you all for the help and prayers. I did have a good Easter and the grandkids have a way to make me forget about what troubles me when they are over. I will go to the appointment with the breast specialist, (even so my husband insists that's his title Lol ). i let you know when I know more.
