The Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) is holding self-help courses for people with lupus. Unfortunately they only seem to be in Pennsylvania but it looks like a great idea so I'll look for -- and hope that -- LFA will expand it to more locations.
It could use a little bit nicer name. They call it "SLESH"; for "Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Self-Help". Ick. A catchier name would be "Dealing with #$%& Lupus"

Anyway; it's a free-of-charge seven-week program designed to teach people with lupus how to take a more active part in their health care and live better with the disease.

According to LFA, each weekly session is facilitated by a team of trained volunteers and will include topics such as basic medical information about lupus, medications and treatments, exercise, doctor-patient communication, fatigue management and relaxation and stress management techniques.
Pre-registration is required -- as is proximity.
Classes will be held:
Wednesdays, April 2 to May 14, 2008
Abington Memorial Health Center, Schilling Campus
Willowood Bldg., Suite 163
2500 Maryland Rd., Willow Grove, PA
