For years, I have watched this show get it wrong about parenting kids with disabilities.
Adam and Kristina consistently do a horrible job of parenting a kid with a disability.
They make excuses for Max and rarely do anything to make Max understand that society is not going to accept his disability, therefore he needs to be aware of that and work around it.
This week's episode was the most insulting of all, however.
I can't believe that Kristina actually said that the word "retard" is really offensive when your son has Asperger's Syndrome.
Excuse me?
That word is offensive to ALL parents of kids with disabilities.
I hope NBC gets a LOT of mail about this.
And then maybe hires some writers who have a clue how to write a story about a family dealing with a kid with a disability.
