    Thumbs up The King's Speech

I saw this today and it was wonderful. A truly great film that is Oscar-worthy. Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush are great. I knew nothing of this story and I found it really interesting. Roger Ebert's views on the film are worth reading. I love Colin Firth and he really delivers.

I finally got the chance to see this movie yesterday. I admit I went in thinking it couldn't possibly be that good and thinking it was one of those "designed to win Oscars" movies. But I was surprised because it was really good. It is an interesting story with great performances and having seen it, I'd say Firth is a lock for Best Actor. Though I loved some of the other nominees (see my 127 Hours review next), I would say Firth would be a worthy choice. I'd give it a solid "A."
