I am undecided on the overall grade of this episode. Maybe it managed to get a B? The case was ok. I felt bad for the homeowner (even though he was the killer). Clark didn't annoy me as much as usual so bonus points for that.

What I really liked about the episode though was Booth's father. I enjoyed his interactions with Brennan, and his first meeting with Sweets was hillarious. "Is this a friend of Parkers?" "Where did he get his degree, a cracker jack box?" Or something along those lines :p It was fun to see him go after Sweets like that.

That wasn't Booth's Father, that was his grandfather.
And it was the actor who played Dad Walton to boot.
I can't go with the idea that this was a good episode.
Just more camp.
A feeder of fat?
Gross.

Should have been grandfather I knew better lol.

I just really liked the scenes with his character. To me they made the episode better than normal. The parts of the episodes that make the show Bones ( the case, character interaction) I don't think were at their best but I think they were better than dome of the other episode.

Ralph Waite did an amazing job playing Pops.
We knew Booth's father was an alcoholic.
Did we know he was beaten as a child?
Or was this the first mention?
That was an interesting insight on Booth's psyche for me.
I really wish we could be all done with the circus, midget, horse fetish, feeding fetish type of story lines.
I agree that the character interactions are what make this show special.
Not the campy plot lines.
