This is the very last challenge before Bryant Park. As a reminder, the winner of Project Runway will receive a fashion spread in Marie Claire Magazine, a trip to France and $100,000 to start their own fashion line.

For this challenge, the designers must pull inspirations from The Getty Center located in Los Angeles California. The Getty Center is a museum that houses 19th- and 20th-century American and European photographs as well as pre-20th-century European paintings, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture, and decorative arts. The Getty Center is considered as being the heart of fashion and culture. The models came along as “muses” for the designers.

Christopher’s inspiration: A Rock Fountain. The judges loved the top of Chris’s design but felt the bottom was too heavy and the skirt was too stiff. They also felt that Christopher didn’t have enough experience when it came to choosing fabrics for his designs. He is OUT.

Irina’s Inspiration: Sheer dress style with a fur wrap. Irina decided to scrap the fur wrap after Tim Gunn mentioned it looked kind of like road kill. I personally liked her finished design this week. The judges loved the color and back of the dress but were not impressed with the length of it and felt it looked a bit old lady like. They also felt the shoes the model wore were too clunky and heavy.
She is headed to Bryant Park.

Carol-Hannah’s inspiration: French Bed. The judges thought her design was made perfectly and it fit her model well. But they also thought she played it too safe. She is headed to Bryant Park.

Althea’s inspiration: Architecture The judges felt the skirt of her design was overworked and the top was very much under worked. They also said it was a mess in construction and Heidi expected more from Althea. However, she is headed to Bryant park.

Gordana’s inspiration: Cathedral, angelic look. I loved loved loved this dress from Gordana. The judges thought it was beautifully made, looked comfortable and flowed nicely. They did not like the big zipper in the back of the dress. One judge commented that at this point in the competition, she still didn’t know who Gordana was as a designer. Gordana is OUT.

It's not a surprise to me that Chris didn't make it to Bryant Park, he's had a tough few weeks. I'm really hoping that Althea and Carol Hannah do well against Irina. She is clearly their biggest competition. Her attitude is horrible ( to me) but she has been consistent in her designs, color choices, fabric choices and showcasing her signature style. Good luck to all of the designers who made it to New York fashion week!

I really liked using the Getty Center as the inspiration point...I've been there and its beautiful! I, too, really liked Gordan's dress and I liked the fact it was so emotional for her...she really put her soul into it, but I agreed with the judges, that the zipper was unattractive. I have liked Carol Hannah's designs the whole way thru...she does such soft and feminine pieces. Christopher was up and down, he could do some beautiful pieces and then some truly hideous ones and he was too weepy. Althea was good and Irina did beautiful work, but she was so arrogant. The 3 girls, finalists, were on "Regis" on Friday, Carol Hannah and Althea said they are roommates now...they did not reveal who won, but I have a feeling its Irina. I read that Ra'mon had a Mens wear show at Bryant Park this year. I've had more fun this year watching "Models of the Runway" and seeing the behind the scenes comments and how attached the models become to their designers.

Ohhh, I wished I had seen them on Regis & Kelly. I'm really hoping that either Althea or Carol Hannah wins but like you said, it is more than likely Irina is the winner. It seems as though Chris had a complete meltdown in a sense. He really did well and then jumped off a cliff.

I've never seen Models of the runway til this season. Of course I hadn't watched Project Runway for about 2 years, ( because of a personal tragedy, I didn't feel like posting much of anything). I did miss the show however and I'm glad to be watching Project Runway this year. But my question is, is this the first year for Models?? I didn't watch the first few shows this season because I basically didn't feel the need. But it is better than I thought and I like that I get to see the other side. I feel the show has shown a real sensitive side to the models and how they get attached to the contestants.

"Models of the Runway" is a new program this year...I think "Lifetime" network thought it up to add to the appeal of Project Runway. I've really enjoyed seeing the young models comments on the outfits they've had to wear and how they like being a part of the show.
