View Full Version : God working in the BB house/Jam/Amb

Not meaning to offend anyone who has set views on religion, but all this praying for God for help in the BB house is a bit silly. OK, I get it that Jameka and Amber have strong opinions on this, but IMHO, faith is NOT about asking God for favors (especially in a game where liars always win!). Faith is about asking God's help in making one's self strong enough to meet what ever challenges there are in life and dealing with what happens.
There's nothing pre-ordained in life or in the house (unless BB is calling some shots we don't know about). Kinda silly these two gals that God is so interested in who wins or loses in the BB house. Sheesh! lol!
I agree with you Catstrack. In fact, I kind of touched on this in another thread. Amber may not think she is a liar but she is. 2 seconds after she said she was going to stop all of the crying I practically ran and got a bucket for her cry to a river into. I KNEW that oath of not crying anymore wouldn't last. Geez, KLEENEX, this girl should be making commercials for you! I also don't like that Amber "swears on her daughter" either. She's done that once I believe ( right before the blow up with Eric) and I thought she wouldn't do it again. But sure enough, she walked right up to Danielle and handed her a golden ticket, "on her daughters life".
Looks like her vision is about to come to fruition. Wow.
I HOPE JEN goes HOME!!!!!!!!!!
Well, they dont know a whole lot about God anyway, seeing as God gives humans free will and does not interfere in what humans do. So whats God going to do? Get the other people to vote for them over the other players?

I consider myself religious, and I am fairly familiar with multiple religions. I don't know which specific branch of Christianity Amber and Jameka belong to, but ITA with Catstrack's opinion!!!
I believe that God has a plan for each person, and that following that plan will help us become our best. HOWEVER, I also believe that God allows us to make our own decisions and make our own mistakes. No matter what decisions we make, I believe that God can help us in many ways.
That said, I don't know of any specific Christian religions that believe in predetermination to the extent that Jameka does. I think Jameka's beliefs about predetermination have been influencing Amber. I have a hard time believing that God has predetermined all of the twists or the winners of the competitions. I PERSONALLY think that the reason amber has been seeing "visions" is because she is dreaming about BB. that happens to me when I get completely involved in something. the fact that she is dreaming about BB just means that she thinking about it, NOT that God is giving her special inside information (which NEVER ends up being right).
I think it's sad that jameka and amber are letting BB twist and shake their faith!!! and I think it's unforgivable that BB is extorting their faith to create TV characters!!!

I'll have to disagree with Annsensei about Amber and Jameka being extorted. The last I checked these 2 women had and have free will. They make decisions and their faith doesn't appear to be buckling under the glare of Big Brother ( to me).
Big Brother is a game of wit, stradegy, back-stabbing, lying, intimidation, betrayal, greed and LYING! LYING! LYING! Why would 2 people who are completely religious put themselves in the lions den?
Based on the game itself, these 2 should have stayed far far away. If they willingly auditioned for BB, decided to go ahead and stay on BB after being picked and knowing what the game is about, then who is being extorted?

I agree about free will. If everything was preordained by God, then there would be no choices to make in life. I suppose original sin could be carried into this discussion and there's no one (or few!) who does not stray. That's what asking for forgiveness is about.
Reading the live feeds, BB is a bit two different shows. CBS edits for TV, but reading (what I do) or watching (if someone pays for the feeds) is a different thing. Praying and acting all holy bites back on the live feeds for some. Cussing (which doesn't bother me...lol), back-stabbing, etc.
Whew, I'd never sign up for BB!!! I would love to do Amazing Race tho.. :-)

I agree with that wholeheartedly...Jameka and Amber are acting foolish to me...it's a game and what they need to do is PLAY the GAME! I believe in visions but Amber's vision was one of wishful thinking!! And please, I am so tired of the tears and the praying...it is ridiculous and shows that the only thing these 2 are willing to do is simply float through the game and 'pray' they get a sympathy vote to win! I hope both are gone real soon!!

I for one am very happy that the nominations didn't change. I WANT Amber gone and her bags of tissue. I wouldn't be upset if Zach left either. Letting Zach get this far by not doing anything or earning the right to be there as long as he has is beyond me. He doesn't need to win HOH or the VETO to float through this game until there are what, 6-7 people left? Crazy if you ask me. I think there is a very good chance Zach will go simply based on the fact that he's pointless. Also, is it me or has Dick calmed down a lot? Maybe because I am sensitive to Father/daughter relationships, but the fact that he is trying to communicate with Daniele means a lot to me. It seems that she is not willing to try to even give an inch but again, I know I dont KNOW the relationship or how Dick has treated his daughter. I hope that someday they can atleast be civil.

I completely agree with Annsensei on this. I've never heard that things are predetermined as they think. I believe prayer can change the outcome of events. I think you can pray for strength and to do your best, but I don't know that praying to win will work.
I also have to agree with the part about Amber's visions. Having a dream is not having a vision. If she thinks she is hearing from God, then what does she have to say about the visions being wrong? I would think anybody would question that.
