I liked the episode. I like going into the episode having NOT read the description or any spoilers. I haven’t read a single episode description this year. It’s the better way to watch the episodes…at least for me. My reactions are truer.

Where to start? There was a lot going on in this episode.

Jordan—who is this imposter and what did she do with the Jordan I know and love? I wasn’t sure what to think. I tried really hard to think of the last time I saw Jordan act this happy—and I couldn’t come up with a single moment. Our Jordan isn’t the giddy, carefree, fen shui happy type.

Jordan had a couple of ‘heavy’ moments despite the new found ‘happiness’ attitude.
1- Her heart to heart with Bug. I was glad it was Jordan Bug ended up talking with. The two obviously care for each other (friend wise) but it’s not as easy a rapport as she has with Nigel and Garret. It seemed fitting that the two—who’ve both been through tragic (granted very different, but still tragic) moments should open up and share their fears to each other.
2- Jordan convincing Julie (that was the sister’s name, right?) that she couldn’t give up on life. Wasn’t Jordan just in this situation? It’s nice to see Jordan be able to learn from her experience and share them with others.
3- Jordan and Garret. Once again it’s Garret who tells Jordan she doesn’t have to change. He knew the old Jordan and he loved the old Jordan. She doesn’t have to change just because she’s been given a second chance.

Kate and Nigel—Nigel and Kate. I think I’m fast becoming a shipper of those two. How great (possible symbolic foreshadowing) was the opening scene with the two of them standing at the altar? The two have an easy banter that passes endlessly between them. Nigel’s the optimist and Kate the pessimist and they play off each other so well.

Kate has officially graduated to morgue family member. She took that last step!
Woody: To the Precinct?
Kate: People here do it all the time.
Welcome to the family Kate. She’s opening up—to Nigel at least—even if it is with threats of losing a liver. There is definitely a friendship forming between the two. Kate doesn’t open up to just anyone. It was a sad moment (“Don’t ask questions you don’t want answers to”) yet it was also a tender moment where Kate felt confident enough to confide in Nigel.

Kate: Why does everyone around here think they have the right to know everything about everything? Because my dear Kate, they CARE. Welcome to the family.

Bug: I understand his reaction—keeping his experience to himself. He’s not one to open up and share his thoughts, yet when he finally did it did him good. Sometimes getting the bad event off your chest does wonders to speeding up recovery. It’s an experience Bug will live with forever. I’m sure he’ll be forever jade toward the HSD and be extra sensitive to the topic of terrorism and such related topics, but I think he’ll at least be able to move on with his life now.

Random Thoughts:
The fish is still alive after a month in Jordan’s care. I’m impressed. Did the fish look more like a beta fish rather than a tropical fish and if it was a tropical fish it needs a tank and filter.

Loved Kate’s threat to Woody—“work place accidents are responsible for more lost of limbs…” – scalpel in hand! Ahh that would only come from Kate.

What WAS Jordan wearing? Okay I can live with the blue polka dotted dress, but the red-ish weird looking coat? Aye!

Priceless Lines:
Nigel: So what did they do, remove the meningioma or give her a lobotomy?
Nigel: ixnay ookiescay
Jordan: (after Elliot tells her she’s supposed to stay behind her) I’m not so good at following directions. (That’s the old Jordan I love!)
Elliot: I'll take cryptic clues for 200.

Overall—the episode wasn’t bad. I found it interesting how Jordan and Bug where the two insisting they were fine, when really they were the ones off-balanced in this episode. But by the ended they’d finally put their false pretenses behind them and the balance in the morgue was restored.

How could one not watch the first half of this episode and think "Maybe just a little brain damage?" When she kissed that black crystal, I was torn between thinking about how much fun Jill had to having playing this up and confoundment that this could in any small way honestly be Jordan.

I'm not sure about Kate & Nigel. Opposites attract but this is ridiculous. I think an opposite to bring out the colourful Nigel crazy is great but Kate is so staid in her ways, I think she tends to (maybe without even meaning to) suck out the colour in the Nigel crazy. And I like Kate---how could I not after how she was with Jordan in the last episode.

Hands down the best part for me was Jordan laying her hands on Woody to help him "do the yoga". Best Woody/Jordan moment in ages.

Don't forget the Woody Jordan Yoga moment! We shippers have to take our crumbs wherever we find them.

As usual, you're absolutely right. I liked this one a lot. Some said it's their favourite this season, but I won't go that far.

LOL - Yeah the last moment was some classic J-W. I miss that easiness between them.

I think I was giggling for most of this ep. -Just cause Jordan was too NOT-Jordan, and quite cute. lol. And also Kate just keeps getting better and better! -I'm totally hooked on her character now! -(now we know she will probably die..it is the way females tend to leave this show...) but I really hope she stays around, you know...as long as the show does. :)

I can't believe there are only a few more eps left! It almost makes it harder that these eps are SO good!

THAT is exactly how I felt. Any little morsel will do!

KJ,

I couldn't stop laughing when Garret said, "the fish is looking good." And Jordan's response, "he makes the cutest little face when you say his name into the bowl, Evander, Evander."

And poor Garret, he was completely torn watching Bug and Jordan struggle. By the end of the show when Garret walked into Jordan's office it was like he was willing to embrace whatever she was into, just so he could make a connection with her. Of course by that point she was ready to throw the towel in on all her fen stuff.

I loved the ending scene between Garret and Bug too, when Bug asked for Saturday off. "Welcome Back"...it was like life was finally settling back into 'normal'. Now we just need Lily back in the picture.

... I think that's gonna happen soon... but I honestly can't say I missed her. She's been always more like an "add-on" on the show... always there, but never really important. Not even when she had this great storyline with her mother in "Locard's Exchange". But it would be nice to have her back, just for the sake of good old times ;0)

You're not the only one. I know many love her and miss her. I think I was writing a review (about half way thru Lily's absense and that's when it dawned on me for the first time I missed Lily (in that particular episode). She never was my favorite character...and last year she just about drove me nuts :D I wouldn't mind having her back, but I'm not broken hearted that she's not been around most of this season.

I really missed her in Post Hoc, and Sleeping Beauty. -I just miss her presence, she's always been there for the characters in times of need.

I admit I am a Lily fan, but she's always been fun, and a little bit of a kook...with heart. lol

I agree in that she would have been great in these last few eps when the others were going though hard times. Every one of them feels comfortable talking to Lily about anything. But I would not say I "miss" her...there are just times in an ep where I think it would have been fun or appropriate to have Lily around. No one on the show seems to miss her either because she is never mentioned. :D

Well, we get to see a little of Lily on Wednesday night it looks like. Should be interesting....:)

A few responses...

First, I miss Lily, it's weird not having her around. But at the same time, with all that's been going on in the morgue, you really haven't had much of a chance to notice that she's gone.

Second, I loved the epy. The J/W stuff at the end was fabulous. It reminded me of the old days :)

And the first thing I did when Jordan walked into the morgue was turn to my friend and question aloud what drugs they had Jordan on because they seemed pretty good. It was hard to watch happy/reformed Jordan. I was excited at the end when she busted into the building like the old Jordan. It would have been a weird series if she hadn't gone back to being herself.

I kept saying to myself that I wanted the real Jordan. Happy Jordan was cute and all....just not the girl we know and love.
