I think we are starting to see more and more a theme of light & dark; good & evil; black & white. I was very skeptical at first at the thought of Rose and Bernard being Adam & Eve; however, after how they acted in last night's epi, now I feel almost positive that they will in fact end up being Adam and Eve. Their attitudes and the way they spoke to the others... like they just found their own little pocket of island and made it their own and they are perfectly happy with that - as Rose said - all the others are doing all the time is shooting at each other and fighting all the time... hmmm .

Some other random thoughts/notes:
- opening scene, Jacob has light hair and a white shirt, the other guy (who I personally think IS Smokey) had dark hair and a black shirt - for sure that was significant;
- a lot of people have speculated that Richard was on the Black Rock, but we never actually saw that so maybe he was there and a part of all this wayyy back (?) and/or from the start
- all those times that Locke said the island told him to do this or that or that the island told him this or that would happen, I think it was the guy in the black shirt (Smokey?) talking to him in his head, not the island - so Locke was believing he was a man of faith, perhaps it was just misplaced faith...
- in the flashbacks to how Jacob met our losties at one point in time or another, he ALWAYS touched them in some way (ie: hand on the shoulder, a handshake, he touched Kate's nose in a cutesy way after saving her from the shopkeeper, etc), I think there is something to that, like he gave them something (or took something away - my son thinks when he shook Jin's hand at the wedding, he took his fertility away, then when Jin got to the island, he had it back) - when he gave Jack the chocolate bar at the hospital, he may have given him back his confidence and thus, he became a better surgeon
- btw, loved Jin's line when Jacob spoke to him and Sun at their wedding and after he walked away she asked 'who was that?' and he says 'I don't know, but his Korean is excellent' - made me laugh out loud!
- Jacob repeatedly told several of our losties that they 'had a choice' - it's like he can only influence them to a point, but in the end they have to choose to do the right (or wrong) thing
- Juliet detonating the bomb...don't think it will make them all land safely at LAX, but I do think that things will be put back on course - the island 'course corrects' accordingy to Mrs. Hawking - so maybe they will still crash and be in 2004 or that time flash/leap thing will put them all back into 2007 but still on the island...
- my head is starting to hurt and I look forward to reruns over the summer to try and put some of the clues and reveals into some sort of theory

Something that also points to it being smokey in Loches form. When Ben was in the temple, fighting with Smokey, Loche was not around. He left Ben alone.

I like the theory that jacob took something away that was restored when they got to the island. I noticed the touching thing, too. it will be interesting to go further with that idea.

I wonder how nu-locke being exposed will affect ben!!! he will realize that he had been manipulated. who knows, maybe, like the grinch, he will grow a heart and richard will somehow know a way the ben can trade his life for locke's to make it right.

I keep thinking back to the eddie murphy movie, "trading places". two powerful brothers make a bet ($1) that a person from the ghettos will rise to the occasion if they are given the opportunity. they also believe that someone that was raised with a silver spoon will resort to major crimes if they are sent to the ghetto. they arrange for eddie murphy to take over dan ackroyd's life of luxury.

maybe there's something similar going on here. maybe the two men are betting that their theory is right and are using the people they bring to the island as pawns to prove themselves right.

That's hysterical.
