Dr Burke is making noise about sueing ABC over his firing. From TV Guide.com
In a candid interview with the Houston Chronicle, Isaiah Washington says, "They fired the wrong guy," positing that contrary to popular belief, the anti-gay slur he spewed during the infamous on-set row with Patrick Dempsey was not aimed squarely at T.R. Knight, though the now-out Grey's Anatomy cast member has said that it was. "That's a lie," Washington says, suggesting that Knight was the one responsible for creating a negative workplace environment, and used the incident as leverage for increases in pay and amount of screen time.

Washington confirms he is pondering a lawsuit against ABC, saying, "My livelihood, my honor, my dignity and my name have been so challenged." He then cops to making three errors in judgment: "Believing the cast... were like family; believing I had the freedom to express myself with family and that we could resolve our issues; and trusting ABC was going to take care of me."

He's really being a jerk about all fo this. The things he said were really offensive, at the least, and now he's whining about his dignity? I didn't want to see him fired, Burke and Christina's relationship were one of my favorite parts of the show... especially after what they've done to Izzy. And George. And even Derek.

Well, I no longer watch Greys Anatomy only because when the time slots were changed, it interfered with my other show. I never had a problem with Mr. Washington before all this and Im embarrassed that he said what he said about a fellow actor and human being. It's hard enough for African Americans dealing with prejudices and racism and as fellow African American, it's shameful. Everyone has an opinion and will be who they are. But if this is his livelihood and dignity on the line, what gives him the right to be a complete A$$hole??

Never seen a dignified A$$hole before.

No one should expect to be employable if they make bigoted statements. I was trying to be sympathetic to Mr. Washington - he lost his job over one terrible mistake - but now I just think he was very lucky to keep his job until the end of the season. When I read a quote from him last week saying "how much responsibility can I take" I wanted to scream. You have to take 100% responsibility, because only you uttered that word. I know that if someone had called him a name that only a bigot would use, he would expect that person to be fired! And, I hate to say it but I thought that Burke doing what he did was a PERFECT way to end that story line. I was glad to see him stand up to Christina and want something better for himself. And Lord knows there would be no way to go back to work alongside her after that. He's better off leaving town.

Oh please. He should NOT have been fired over that. He is missed. At least from me that is.

I agree, he is missed! I loved the Burke/Christina story and can't believe we'll have to endure the George/Izzy connection. How boring is that going to be each week? Quite honestly I'd rather see George and Izzy go rather than Burke.
