Yes you can! There are actually three different display options for viewing the forums here:

Linear:(oldest first) Posts are displayed chronologically from oldest to newest. Posts are shown in a flat mode so that many posts can be viewed simultaneously.

Linear: (newest first) Same as the above mode, except that posts are ordered in an opposite way (newest first).

Threaded: A tree is shown along with every post. This tree allows you to see the relationship each post has to others, in terms of who responded to whom. Only one post is shown at a time.

Hybrid: A mixture of both Linear and Threaded. The threaded tree box is on the top of the page and below you can view multiple posts.

There are a currently two ways to switch between the Linear, Threaded and Hybrid display modes.

1. At the top of every page under the welcome message, there is a drop down box called Quick Links. Go there and choose Edit Options. You'll be taken to a new page that has a Control Panel on the left and a bunch of boxes on the right. Scroll down the page to the third box called Thread Display Options. The second option inside that box is called Thread Display Mode. Inside that, you should see a drop down menu with 4 options:
Linear: Oldest First
Linear: Newest First
HybridChoose which one you want, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes. Voila!

2. Inside any thread, there is a drop down menu called Display Modes above the first post or tree (depending upon which mode you are currently using). This is the quickest and easiest way to switch your view. Simply click the drop down menu and choose which mode you prefer!

Quick Reply is just that. A simple and fast version of a post entry box at the bottom of every thread page. It doesn't have all the whistles and bells of advanced, but makes it easier when you just want to type up a quick sentence or two.

If you want all the fun emoticons, font enhancments and code buttons, click on the Go Advanced button at the bottom of the Quick Reply box. Other ways to get the enhanced version:
Use the POST A REPLY button at the top and bottom left hand corners of every thread page.
Use the QUOTE button as a method of replying to a particular post. This always opens the enhanced reply page.Related: What do Quote and Multi-Quote do? (http://www.coffeerooms.com/bb/showpost.php?p=306&postcount=10)

If, when in Advanced Mode, you dont see all the fun options like emoticons, font enhancements and code buttons (i.e. YouTube or Spoiler), it's a quick and simple fix.

At the top of every page there is a drop down menu called Quick Links. Go there and select Edit Options. This will bring you to a new page with a Control Panel on the left and a bunch of boxes on the right. Scroll all the way down to bottom of this page. You should see a box called Miscellaneous Options with Message Editor Interface inside. There are three options inside the drop down menu found there:

Basic Editor - A simple text box
Standard Editor - Extra Formatting Controls
Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG EditingChoose the Enhanced Interface option and click Save Changes. Voila!

*note* You will never see all the advanced options inside the Quick Reply box. It uses only the minimal amount of options for faster posting.

There are multiple ways to search for and find the topics you are interested in posting about:
Main forum page: an entire listing of all available topics and threads. You can easily get there by clicking the coffeerooms image at the top left hand corner of the screen.
Forum Jump: A super quick way to find the forum you are looking for. It's a drop down menu at the top and bottom of every Thread and Post page with a list of all available forums.
Instant Coffeerooms: This can be found on the upper left hand side of the screen (below the coffeerooms image). This is a quick link box to all main forums. (i.e. NightTime TV, Books, etc.)
Search: This can be found at the top of any forum page. It is used for searching individual threads and posts using keywords/phrases. There is also an advanced option.
Today's Posts: This can be found in the Quick Links drop down menu in the navbar at the top of the page.
User Specific Posts: If you would like to view a specific user's posts or threads, you can do so by visiting their profile and clicking "Find all Posts by" or "Find all Threads by".

If you'd like to see all threads updated in the last 24 hours, go to the top of any page and click on the drop down menu called Quick Links. The first option in this menu is called Today's Posts.

This will take you to a new page with all the threads that have been posted in most recently. Threads in bold have posts you have not viewed yet.

The YouTube button is a for just that, posting YouTube videos.

Every YouTube video has a URL which you can find in a handy box on the right side of the video that looks like this:

Here at coffeerooms, you only want the part of the URL that is bold. When you click the little YouTube button at the top of the Advanced posting box you will get a set of tags that look like this:

To post a video, copy the part of the URL that I turned bold up there and and paste it between the two tags. Hooray! You've posted a video!

(without the spaces) will give you

Spoilers just got even cooler with our handy dandy spoiler button.

If you have information you don't think everyone wants to know, then click the little SPOIL icon (next to the YouTube icon) when writing a post. Tags will pop up that look like this (but w/out spaces):

You should place any information you want to keep hidden between the two tags. Voila! Instant hidden spoiler!

Will look like this:
Oh No! Stefano totally killed everyone!
*click the Show button to see it in action*

Anyone can post a poll when they create a new thread. Polls can not be created in replies. This option allows you to post a question and provide a number (up to 10) of reponses. Other users will then be able to vote on the poll and the results can be seen at the top of the thread.

If you want to post a poll on your new thread, simply scroll down below the text box and find the Post a Poll option. Check the "Yes, post a poll with this thread option" and enter the number of responses you want to include.
Select Submit New Thread and after a quick loading screen, your Post a Poll page will come up. This is where you enter all your poll's information.

To vote in a poll, simply select which option you want to vote for, and click the [Vote!] button. You may view the current results for a poll before you vote by clicking the 'View Results' link. Voting in a poll is entirely optional. You may vote for any of the available options, or cast no vote at all.

Generally, once you have voted in a poll, you will not be able to change your vote later, so place your vote carefully!

Your profile is the page that displays your post information, any personal info you might want to share and how to contact you.

The buddy list is used to keep track of the friends you have made on this forum. By going to the Open Buddy List option in the Quick Links menu at the top of any page, you'll be able to see which of your friends are currently online and send them a private message.

Adding people to your buddy list also allows you to send private messages to multiple forum members at the same time. You may add any member of coffeerooms to your buddy list by viewing their profile and choosing "Add user to your Buddylist" or by going to Buddy / Ignore Lists at the bottom of your control panel on your edit options page.

Ignore lists are used for those people whose messages you wish not to read. By adding someone to your ignore list, those messages posted by these individuals will be hidden when you read a thread.
