April 29..Neil Diamond week

All of the singers..sang two songs. Overall..not one of my favorite weeks. But this is what I thought of tonight's performances:

Jason Castro . .first song..Forever in Blue Jeans..just ok. Nothing special
second song...September Morn..sounded very sexy, better. It was good. Judges were hard on him though

David Cook...First song, I'm Alive...very good, but seemed like the song was over so quickly
Second song, All I really Need is You...good
Judges loved the second song

Brooke... First song, I'm a Believer. Not that good. Seemed stiff..and kinda cheesy. Needed to put the guitar down and loosen up some.
Second song, I am I said. Much much better. More her style. Good. Judges loved her second song better too

David A....First song, Sweet Caroline. Couldn't compare to Neil Diamon's version. Just ok
Second Song..America (love that song) Better than first song. Good. Have to admit David A has the voice..but overall he's just boring to me.

Sayesha...First song, Hello Again...It was nice. Loved her hair straightened like that instead of bushy. Looked nice tonight.
Second song. Thank the Lord for the NIght time. Liked the first song better..but it was just ok for me

Will there just be a bottom two..or just pick one to go? I have a feeling Brooke or Sayesha will go home. Jason didn't do that great, but he still has the girls voting for him!

Over all..David Cook did the best..but this week, just didn't wow me!

I'm with you Dragonmom that is wasn't one of my favorite weeks. I love Neil Diamond, but the show was just boring again to me. I have to agree with Simon, this is the top 5 and they really need to give it their all and prove to us they are star quality. They've all got the potential.

I liked Jason's blue jean song but didnt think the second was a hit.....I had to agree with the judges there. He really needs to find his nitch and go for it. He has a unique voice, but you gotta work it.

David C - didnt like the first, loved the second.

David A - he's just not that impressive to me any more...I totally see him and Sayesha on Broadway!! I think that's more their nitch.

Brooke, thought the first one stank but loved the second one. I agree - more her style, definetly believeable. What was up with her get up....didnt care for the look but thats not part of the judging is it.

AND OMG - What the heck was Puala drinking? lol... no that's mean...really it was pretty embarrassing when she criticed Jason's 2 songs when he only did one and then gushed over David Cook. I see they changed how they did it the second time so she wouldnt get so confused. lol...

After a long stressful day, I sometimes wish I could have a sip of whatever is in Paula's cup...LOL! She really screwed up last night. The looks on Simon, Randy and Ryan's faces were priceless.

About David Archuleta. A friend of mine said he thinks David A would be a good voice for Aladin or some Disney character. After thinking about it, it's true! He'd be great at that or on Broadway.

I have to agree that this week was boring, I'm really surprised given the fact that they're down to the top 5 performers. I don't think there was one that stood out with both numbers, I think most had one good song but didn't wow me this week.

I like Jason's first song but the second one was forgettable. I'm a big fan of his but he's got to give it his all next week.
Not a fan of Brooke, was in the begining but got tired of her pouting. I thought the back up singers were better than her in the first number, they sounded stronger than her.
I thought David Cook sounded good but his self confidence is coming off as arrogance. David A always sounds the same, I know he has a voice but he doesn't have a personality. Sorry, I think he's boring. Sayesha sounded great last night and I think they came down hard on her. I don't understand why she doesn't have a bigger fan base, she's got talent and presence. I think what we were missing last night was Michael Johns, he really should have been in the top 5 performers. That was a bad call, he had the whole package.

well im sure she's a good girl, but i wasnt heartbroken to see Brooke go and not all that suprised. I think Jason will have to pull one out of the park to justify stay in singing wise next week. Still can't believe Carly is out.

I think it's always going to be difficult when some of the contestants are too young...or never heard the songs before...by some of these "older" guest contributors. It would be sorta hard as so many who watch DO know these songs.

Brooke should not have won AI, but she shouldn't have gone this week either.

Sorry to say, Jason...has less range than any of the other five and should have gone two weeks ago, but he's cute I agree...and getting the girl votes.

Good to see you here Catstrack! I figured it would be Brooke or Sayesha this week. Jason has too many girls going crazy over him.

He attends a HUGE university with a large alumni connection, my guess is that his Aggie connection is also keeping him there.

Just one response that's been bugging me, I'm sure Jason may have the girl's voting for him. But I'm a 40 something year old grandmother of two who is NOT voting for Jason because I think he's cute. lol I actually didn't want to like him because of those horrible dreadlocks! I just want to put his head in a shampoo bowl and wash those things! lol But he did win me over early on with his voice. I agree he has had some lackluster performances, but he is one of my faves. My others being Sayesha and Michael Johns. I agree Michael should still be there. Sayesha disappointed me all season until Broadway week. And I started out only rooting for Kristy because my daugher so wanted her to succeed so she could get her horse back, but I did end up liking her and think she could do well in country.
Never did like David Cook, Carly or David A. So all in all this season has been a bit of a disappointment.
I really hope Jason and Sayesha step it up tonight and blow us all away. Well, a gal can hope can't she? lol
