Another week, another mass shooting. I guess we might as well get used to it..........because allowing the NRA to virtually control public policy has meant that we are all at much greater risk because every troubled soul, nut and his brother can manage to buy as many guns as they want.
It sure seems to me that we are much more at risk from being shot right here at home by one of our fellow citizens........than we are being blown up in a terror attack. Yet this administration......and most politicians......cower to the NRA and refuse to address the problems of dishonest gun dealers and the incredible amount of weapons available to anyone with money.
Do you feel "lucky" these days, folks? Because that's all we've got to rely on.........luck. Because one industry- the NRA- has bullied, bought and brought down our country.

The guy that wrote that "article" can't put cart-and-horse in order and the result is that he makes people who quote him look foolish too.

He wishes, "why canít they start with suicide?" Impotent and cruel. How about, "why can't they start with getting help." Or, "why can't they start with selling their guns."

He thinks that professors and students should be armed. The majority of Americans have spoken, of course, and except for the cowards on the right wing of the congress who refuse to stop burning incense and killing kids for the likes of this hate and fear mongering creep.

Here is another view about the right to bear arms. It has more relevence than any online survey.

The "right to bear arms" in the constitution has nothing to do with idea of college campuses being armed camps.

What a goofy idea.

Looks like you voted to keep campuses gun-free. Or did you not vote. Making your own voice heard is also part of the Constitution but I bet your robot friends at townhall.com keep forgetting to mention that.

Tell me, JustKathy.....do you have the "right" to carry around your own nuclear bomb?
I didn't think so. Civilized societies regulate. Who wants to live in the Wild West?

a prefessor or stundent that is approved and licensed would have saved lives in Vir and IL had he/she been allowed to carry... medical privacy is also part of the problem... certain people on meds shouldn't be allowed to buy guns... doctors should make the call...

You don't know that. From what I read, the damage was done so quickly that people just froze. It's wishful thinking to imagine that anyone carrying a gun in that classroom would have been able to get it out and use it quickly enough to make any difference.
The NRA has a lot to answer for, IMO, as these incidents will continue to happen.....and more frequently. Just another example of how dangerous it is to let indeology get in the way of sanity.

I do not own a gun (other than my dad's 40 year old rusted out ones) and I am not an advocate of such, but ...going out on a limb here.....if criminals can get guns by illegimate means or lawful ones maybe....

If your state allows concealed weapons and IF law abiding citizens carry them, then could there be a chance that some of the law abiding citizens who carried concealed weapons could have made a differnce in some of these tragic shootings?

Some of the shooters have procured weapons by legal means and others have not. NRA can't control all these illegal weapons OR the way some get them legally.

I'm getting to the point with some of these shooting venues that I think it would be GREAT if someone else "carried" and could take these nuts out before they killed or injured so many others.

I just dunno. Just seems very sad that in these cases the students, etc. are defenseless and at the mercy of the killers.
