This is incredibly sad & shocking. Officials are speculating that it may be drug related.

With all that is going on with people like Amy WineHouse, Britney Spears and Brad Renfro, I think in some way we are expecting the worst because their lives are spiraling out of control. Or did.

But Heath Ledger??? I am very shocked and send my condolences to his family, friends, and all fans.

May he rest in peace.

I'm not so sure it was addiction. Larry King is reporting that he was suffering from an upper respitory problem and having trouble sleeping. It could be just a deadly mix of prescriptions. Poor guy. I really loved his movies.

Yep. Early reports were of overdose, but now they are saying something about cold meds and sleeping pills.

Yes, the reports on this story are ever changing. It seems he has been working a lot and was trying to get his sleep patterns back to normal. What a great actor and such a loss of a very young, vibrant man.

I am so saddened by this news. He was one of my favorite actors to watch and also to look at ;)
They are now saying there were other meds at the site and a rolled up $20 next to his body. I pray that he is not demonized in the media as a drug addict who overdosed. No matter what happened this young man is dead at the age of 28 and leaves behind a little baby girl. Matilda will grow up without her daddy around and that breaks my heart.
We all lost a great actor who had so much to live for and more of his ability to show us. I want to see the new Batman movie this summer but it will be with a heavy heart as I watch this amazing man.

I just saw on yahoo that Michelle Williams returned to NY and I clicked the video- which I never normally do at work cause I cant hear it anyway- and am not one to watch videos of all these hollywood people. I think they get too much attention, but with this story it broke my heart. Anyway- I clicked it and watched all these people surrounding her house and the car she arrived in - snapping photos and taking video- and it just disgusts me. These people are trying to make money off of such a horrible sad situation. I wish the paparazzi would just all go away and be unemployed. Why cant they just let people mourn in peace!?

I was very glad to hear that the $20 bill had no drug residue on it.
I agree the popo are ridiculous. They had a shot of her getting into a limo from the airport and she is just so devastated and in shock. They are leeches. They need to leave this poor girl alone and let her mourn in peace. There is also a video of them chasing down her mom to ask how Michelle is doing. The people of NY are screaming at them to leave her alone and they just keep at it. How the hell do they think Michelle is doing??? They are just horrible.

Momof2, I definately understand where you are coming from. Although Heath & Michelle were no longer an item, people have to know she still cared very much for this man and has to raise her daughter without her father. It would be nice if photogs,paparazzi and tabloid hungry people could back away and show respect during times like this. It's as bad as those people who decide to protest at a soldiers funeral. Disgusting like you said.

I am puzzled by something I read. Why would the masseur call Mary Kate Olsen twice before she called 911? That is very fishy to me. Or she is completely stupid. A man is not responding to attempts to wake him, he's appears unconscious & cold to the touch yet you call someone with no medical background first? Before you call 911? Maybe it's just me, but something aint right about that.

DOOL1fan-I do understand they are curious and all. And I know that these people picked this lifestyle- but as you said and I say- back off right now. You want to interview her after a good amount of time for mourning has passed, fine. But right now they havent even buried the body and they are all about making money off who can get the best shots of her and her daughter. Its just pathetic. They really need to let the friends and family mourn.

All the speculation in the media makes me want to puke. The reporting of rumors really pisses me off. It could simply be complications of pneumonia. Or at the worst an accidental overdose of prescribed medications. The man was alone with pneumonia for heavens sake. He could have been so sick he forgot he took something and accidentally doubled up on something. But the fact is nobody knows what happened and the press should stop all the wild accusations. My heart really goes out to his family for having to hear the awful rumors and complete trashing of their child.

The paparazi is a bunch of blood thirsty scum.
