Um, OK, this is a nice look but where are all my CJ friends? Where are all the old threads?

I was just going to say how I'm really getting down, with the negativity about season seven (or lack thereof). I mentioned in an old thread that I was waiting to hear about my teaching position next year, too. So I thought I'd just tell my sweet friends how sad I'm feeling, and now I'm not sure I can find any of you!!

Okay this system will probably be easier to use...though I've gotten used to the old board format...but the ads everywhere are killing me. There was a full page of adds before I realized that if I kept scrolling I'd finally see the posts. keep the ads on the side and out of the message area. Too annoying.

Unfortunately that's the only format that particular Ad will accept. However, we're always messing with the look and feel and we're definately trying to figure out a less obtrusive way to show ads in that area.

And yes, the idea is to have all the forums completely turned over to this look once we work out all the kinks and bugs. Thanks for helping us beat up on it. It's really helpful!

At first glance this reminds me of the NBC CJ board format which I do not like.
Sorry you're feeling down.
I'm a little down since Chad is away. Must be tough to sit at your desk if you don't know if there will be anymore work for you to do...

I personally prefer this type of board. You can read everyone's comments much more quickly than having to click on every single one and wait for it to open, but that's just me. :D

And I agree with KJ- go over to her site and get some icons, they rock! ;)

Hiya robandchrismom,

I just wanted to let you know that you can switch to other "modes" that allow you to view it almost the same way as the old boards. The one you probably want is called "Threaded mode."

I wrote up a FAQ in teh Q&A forum with answers on how to switch modes and so on. If that doesn't help you out, please feel free to drop me a line or just post here and I'll reply asap.

thanks oda. so is this going to be our permanent cr cj board? why not switch over right away. tonight is cj night. its going to be hard with people posting on both. I will get used to this. Just the timing sucks b/c tonight is cj night and people are having sign on issues. I know of at least two people who post regularly that can't sign on to either board.

Thanks! I wasn't aware of the sign on issues, I'll make sure Annie and Mike know as soon as possible.

We're just leaving the other boards up for a bit until everyone is fully aware of the transfer. Hopefully they'll all find their way here tonight :)

Mike is working on getting it fixed but it's more difficult if he doesn't know exactly what's going on. Thanks very much in advance!

A workaround seems to be that if you want to post here at the new boards, you have to sign in here and not at the old ones. Just until we get it fixed. I hope this helps!

Well, now that I understand what is going on in here, I'm OK.

It looks alright to me, but I'm wondering if I'll have to check out two boards now, instead of just the old one.

This is a much better format. Thank God! I've always hated how long it took to flip in and out of each post on the old format. Can wait until its up and running. Although if they cancel CJ, I probably won't be on CR anymore. I'm not addicted to any other shows.

I know madmadambeth had password issues I believe. she's still having issues. and someone mentioned on the other board that they completely changed their screen name b/c of password issues.

Actually this was the kind of board I got used to when I first started joining groups on the net. It took me a while to get used to the way the other Coffeeroom board and still cringe when I have to go back and forth to read all the posts. Having them as they are posted is much easier and to have a quote option helps keep conversations going.

I agree! It's a lot more easier. But I think this board will be growing really fast (the topics) when we have more members over here, and then it''ll be as confusing as hell, even more so than before. It would be a great to have subboards like on this Crossing Jordan Board (http://charmedscripts.tv/cj/board/)- I hope you understand what I mean by that.

I used to be 6sou. The old coffeerooms had kept my password in memory so I forget what it was. However, when I wanted to log in here, I just couldn't find my password :confused: I did the "lost password" thing and it said it sent me a email with my password. No email. I re-did the operation and still got nothing :( So I tried to log again with the passwords I usually use and I did get an e-mail saying I tried to log in with a wrong password 5 times. Why didn't the password email come to my mail box? I asked for it before I tried every password that came to my mind, so it shouldn't have been blocked yet :confused:
So I re-registered and in the registration mail there were 2 links, "please click here to activate your account" and "America Online User Please Visit Here To Be Activated". First link didn't work so I tried the second one, though I'm nowhere near America, and it seems to work fine.


I'm globally satisfied with the new board, I like this format (except for the add in the middle of the page, but I can live with it) and I like the tree thing at the begining of the thread so we can quickly see the replies. Good point :)

You are limited to using 4 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again : Too bad for long posts with smileys =( If you add an artwork section, could you increase the number of images per message? (at least just for the artwork section), because a hundread post with 4 images in it will suck)

I'm thrilled you're happy with the new format. We realize it's a difficult change for some but a necessary one for others. We're working extremely hard to accomodate everyone. And we are looking into other options for that big middle of the page ad ;).

I'll definately pass along the image issue to Annie and see if there's anyway we can change that. I'm not sure what the reasoning behind the limit is so I can't give you a complete answer on that yet.

Yes! We will be giving you multiple subforums! In fact I'll try to get on that after I figure out your password situation.
