I managed to get one today, just the basic package. Used wiialerts.com to be notified of when different sites had them in stock. So I got it at the normal price, not the price gouging that is going on on eBay and other sites. If you are looking for a wii I recommend checking out the site and signing up for the alerts, then act fast if you are alerted.

So anyway if you have a Wii what are the must haves to go with it? I know we'll need to get extra wiimotes, and controllers and stuff. But other than that, memory cards? The wireless network card thing? Stuff you would say someone really need to get to make their Wii complete, besides the games.
I'm currently browsing for accessories. I'd already said I was done shopping when I got the blasted alert. And I've wanted one for a while, then couldn't find them in stock. So I went ahead and got it. (I want this for me, heck with the kids, if they are nice they can play it). So I'm trying not to spend too much more, but want to make sure I have the main things.

No you don't need a memory card. You have so much space on your wii that will save games. The numchucks (spell check) are a must to box with. Other than that all comes with the kit. No extra plugs and things. ENJOY cause its so much fun

Okay it comes with 1 nunchuck and one wiimote. Is that enough to start with (as 2 players) or not? I've never played with a wii so I don't know if the nunchuck is enough as a controller for most games or not. I do plan on slowly building up extras. But I want to make sure on Christmas morning we can open it up and start playing with enough parts. I actually already have a point card to download games. So do I need a wireless adapter thing to access them to download, or can I hook up wired?

Its enough to play as far as taking turns. Now if you want to go against each other your going to want to get at least 2 of each. I have not tried the hook up to the internet so I can't help you there.

Oh and the nunchuck is primarily used for games where you need both hands. The games that come with the wii you only need a nunchuck for boxing.

I got one a couple of weeks ago. I love it! We have two remotes. We're having our annual Christmas party next week and we want to have challenges. It's a blast. I love bowling.

My daughter ask for one for Christmas. I refuse to get one, we have nintendo 64, super nintendo, gamecube, and playstation 2. She's soon to be 20 and works, she can buy her own. I seen last night on the Roloft's they have one. It did look fun.

We just have a PS2 right now. Nothing newer than that. And the price of the Wii is so much better than the PS3 of the Xbox 360. But yeah if your daughter is 20 she can certainly go buy her own. I have a feeling my husband will end up playing it more than the kids though, lol.
