A list of high-level centers for Lupus treatment and/or medical research.
Look here for places to go if, or when, you're ready to kick it up a notch from your local GP or rheumatologist.
(And if you know of any that are not on this list, but that should be, please let us know in the comments below.)

Sites listed as "treatment and research" have Lupus-specific medical treatment centers for patients with Lupus, as well as Lupus-specific medical research &/or trials underway.
Sites listed as "research only" means that they have Lupus-specific medical research &/or trials underway; but while they may also have standard rheumatological services, they do not have Lupus-specific treatment focus.

Treatment and research:

Foundations Funding Lupus Research:
Alliance for Lupus Research (http://www.lupusresearch.org/) (ALR); New York NY. Aim, " to find better treatments and ultimately prevent and cure systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE or lupus)."
Molly's Fund (http://www.mollysfund.org/); Portland OR. Aim: "continual outreach and advocacy on behalf of those with lupus, beginning with partnering with those in the medical community".

This is, by no means, an exhaustive list. You can search Google for "centers for treatment of Lupus" (https://www.google.com/search?q=centers+for+treatment+of+lupus) for updates
