Food Banks

I've been reading about the shortages at food banks and it makes me sad. People show up for food at these places when they are on their last leg. The idea that there would be nothing there for them is frightening. So if you can, contact your local food bank, and make a donation. Or pitch in when people are collecting at the grocery store.

They're doing a drive at Cait's school and she was all about bringing it in. Weird part is they didn't put it in the newsletter to the parent, she mentioned it today.

We always gave a donation every Thanksgiving to the food bank in Detroit. A couple of years ago we decided to make a donation every month with the rest of our bills. It doesn't have to be big. Small amounts do wonders at these places and it helps them out all year.
