TGIF everyone, have a great weekend.
1. What is something you have always wanted to try, but haven't yet?
I've always wanted to try my hand at decorating cakes.
2. If you could go see a motivational speaker, which one would you see?
Um, I dunno...
3. Where is your favorite place to be in your home?
In my family room, in front of the fireplace in the big overstuffed chair with the ottoman, watching the snow fly outside.
4. What was the last surprise you got?
A warm, fresh home-made donut.
5. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
Surviving an 8 month government audit at work. It truly was one of the hardest things I've ever done, work wise.
Weekend plans?
We're heading out of town for the first of many hockey tournaments this weekend. I have Monday off work, so I plan on catching up on laundry and housework then.
1. What is something you have always wanted to try, but haven't yet?
**Quilting
2. If you could go see a motivational speaker, which one would you see?
**I have no idea. Does BonJovi count as a motivational speaker, they're going to be here in April :D
3. Where is your favorite place to be in your home?
My couch...it's just cozy
4. What was the last surprise you got?
**My boss brought me a hand-made blanket and a huge bottle of vanilla from Mexico.
5. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far? I didn't do it alone, but having a great, weird to some, but great family. :D :D
Weekend plans?
**Today is girlchilds 14th birthday. (Yes, 14 y'all!!)
I think we're all going to the HS football game tonight (first game of the play-offs), cake and presents at some point...maybe even tomorrow. Football watching on Saturday, race on Sunday. However, if the way I feel now is any indication, I have a feeling I'm going to be camped on my couch, wrapped up in my blanket from Mexico. My head hurts..my stomach is woozy, and I'm freezing. I don't like this *at all*.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
1. What is something you have always wanted to try, but haven't yet?
Winning Powerball!
2. If you could go see a motivational speaker, which one would you see?
(great question!) Believe it or not, Joyce Meyers or Joel Olsten. I've seen Joyce on late night TV and I think she'd be interesting. Totally not my religion either.
3. Where is your favorite place to be in your home?
Cooking in my kitchen
4. What was the last surprise you got?
Just this morning when GMA showed a piece on how veteran groups don't get the money the should from charities and my client was included in the list. I hate Brian Ross, half assed reporting actually. But it was a shocker to see it on National TV.
5. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
My daughter and continually offering myself up to speak at educational conferences within my profession.
Weekend plans? Patriots have a bye so no football this weekend. Cathing up on laundry and trying to return Aqua Dots to Toys R us without a receipt. Ugh.
1. What is something you have always wanted to try, but haven't yet?
I'm with Megan on winning the Powerball. I'm going to try again tomorrow.
2. If you could go see a motivational speaker, which one would you see?
Tony Robbins. OK, he is the only motivational speaker whose name I know, so he wins by default. But, if Melisa gets to have Bon Jovi, Derek Jeter could certainly motivate me if he would like. :p
3. Where is your favorite place to be in your home?
On my couch, in front of a fire in the fireplace, reading a good book.
4. What was the last surprise you got?
My mom brought me flowers to thank me for hosting an anniversary dinner for my parents' 45th anniversary.
5. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
A couple: My kids! They are great human beings. Kind, sweet, honest, smart kids. Any mother would be proud to have them.
Weekend plans?
As always, my weekend involves carting kids to activities. Karate class, horseback riding lessons, guitar lessons.
TGIF everyone, have a great weekend.
1. What is something you have always wanted to try, but haven't yet?
Going up in a hot air balloon or parasailing.
2. If you could go see a motivational speaker, which one would you see?
None...lectures have never appealed to me. It's all I can do to keep my attention on my pastor on Sundays...and he's a great speaker. :blush2ey:
3. Where is your favorite place to be in your home?
In my living room.
4. What was the last surprise you got?
Running into my friend since kindergarten at a restaurant 2 weeks ago. I hadn't seen her in about 5 years.
5. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
This is a hard one. I'm blessed in so many ways and have done so much in my life that it would be hard to pinpoint one thing.
Weekend plans?
Our office is closed Monday for Vets Day, so I took today off too. I'm just going to lay low and see what comes up.
1. What is something you have always wanted to try, but haven't yet?
I have never been on a plane.
2. If you could go see a motivational speaker, which one would you see?
Someone on weight loss.
3. Where is your favorite place to be in your home?
On the couch, under my favorite blanket.
4. What was the last surprise you got?
I can't think of one. Oh, wait, does three white castle hamburgers count? My daughter came home with dinner for the two of us a few nights ago.
5. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
My kids.
Weekend plans?
Nothing fun :(, I have a ton of my brother's laundry to do. I have to help the MIL with paper work. Plus I have to kick my husband's behind. HE WILL PUT IN THE KITCHEN FAUCET, AND BATHROOM FAUCET THIS WEEKEND. He has promised 3 or 4 weekends in a row.
TGIF everyone, have a great weekend.

1. What is something you have always wanted to try, but haven't yet?
Skydiving. No, I'm kidding. I can think of a lot of things that I haven't tried, but because I don't want to. Let's see...filet crochet. I think it looks beautiful, and even bought a how-to booklet, but haven't tackled it yet.
2. If you could go see a motivational speaker, which one would you see?
Anita Renfroe. She is hilarious, touching, and seems like someone that would be awfully fun to hang out with.
3. Where is your favorite place to be in your home?
I'm currently hating my house, since we're still remodeling and still have stuff where it shouldn't be. Some of that is my fault (I'm an over-stuffer) and some is just that the stuff doesn't have an elsewhere.
4. What was the last surprise you got?
Um...I was given a bag of snack mix tonight.
5. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
My kids. They're smart, funny, fun to be around, and usually not whiny and/or bratty. I'm not just biased, either; I've been told these things by others, so either they're true, everyone is lying, or they're all suffering a mass delusion.
Weekend plans?
The weekend is half over, and I've already packed plenty into it. At 7:00 on Friday morning, my daughter and I, along with 56 other girls and adults, climbed on a bus to ride 4-5 hours to Minneapolis to attend Revolve, a Christian conference for teenage girls. It is important to note that we were in a bus that seats 51 people. We went to the Mall of America for some shopping, then went to the Target Center for the Friday evening session. We got to the church where we stayed around 10 p.m., plowed our way through 14 pizzas(!), and attempted to sleep. Next time, I swear, I'm bringing an air mattress. I think that I got 3 hours sleep, max, due to the hard floor and the fact that some of the girls were running down our hallway at 1:30, screaming. I heard rumors that some were up until 5, but you'd never guess from the bus ride home. :p
This morning we were up at 6:30, and spent the day at the conference. It was really wonderful, with good messages and some good music (even the hip-hop artist was fun, despite the fact that it's not really "my" music.) We got home around 9:30. Seriously, it was a lot of fun, especially since I didn't have to organize it or be in charge. But next time...air mattress, AND ear plugs.
Tomorrow, I have to go to church and teach Sunday School, and help my kids bake for the youth group bake-off on Monday night. And hopefully catch a nap!
Next year we will have to go to Women of Faith in Minneapolis-it will be in October. Our church takes a bus but we don't oversell tickets and have a seat for everyone. :) I went last year and LOVED it. Anita Renfroe is amazing. I have her book "If it's not one thing, it's your mother." Love her! I'm glad to hear you got to go to Revolve-it sounds like an amazing way to spend time with your daughter. :)
We just got home from Sioux City. Boys took 5th out of 8, not too bad for the first games of the season. B looks like a giant compared to most of those kids. It's ridiculous!
PS-you coming here for Turkey Day?!

I would *love* to go to WoF with you! Next year, Patsy Clairmont and Anita are hosting the pre-conference. I have her book "Purse-Driven Life". And her DVD--I'll have to lend it to you. Tammy and I roomed together last time and we had the best time. I will demonstrate our jumping-on-the-bed technique. :-)
Congrats to the boys--that isn't bad for the first time out. I'm looking forward to seeing him play this season. I'll have to keep my eye on PBS for the state tournament, because that was so fun to watch last year.
Yes, we plan on coming for Thanksgiving--I need to email Mom and tell her so.
1. What is something you have always wanted to try, but haven't yet? I would love to learn to play the piano. We are thinking of getting lessons for Tori and I may have to do the same for myself.
2. If you could go see a motivational speaker, which one would you see? Gosh, I really have no idea...tough question.
3. Where is your favorite place to be in your home? My living room, after I've decorated for Christmas (which I haven't done yet) and the tree is lit and all of the other lights are off. I love that feeling!
4. What was the last surprise you got? Last Sunday I came home from a weekend away and dh had cleaned the house and had soup in the crock-pot. So nice!
5. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far? Like everyone else, my kids. I look at Tori learning how to read and am still amazed that she's mine.
Weekend plans? Since the weekend is over, I'll do a recap. I didn't leave the house, it was great. On Sat I cleaned and my sister came over later with my 4-week old nephew. I held him for hours and it was great. He's so sweet. Sunday I did laundry and homework. I needed a weekend like that.
