Jill took him in first thing this morning and got out pretty quickly. The dentist did x rays..and there's no damage to the nerve...so he just bonded it. For ones that don't know what that is...they have this compound to basically build the tooth back up to look like a normal tooth. I told her it can stain easily..so just use baking powder on it when it does. And the dentist told him he's gonna have to be careful with hard candies and chewy candies. It could come out and have to redo it. Jill said it looked good, but she took him on to school, so I haven't seen it yet. I'm guessing when he's older..he'll get a crown on it....not sure.

Well glad he got that taken care of today. I'm sure you'll have to remind him at first that he can't eat certain candies etc. and with Halloween just around the corner that might be a challenge right? Well hang in there and glad all is well! I'm sure you'll send me a picture of what it looks like now. ;)

Hi dragonmom,
I got your pics of your grandson. Ouch that looks so painful.I am glad they had an easy fix for it. I can imagine keeping him away from certain candies is going to be a challenge. But hey at least they said he can have some candy. I hope it all stays where it is supposed to.:toothyz:

Well..guess what? The tooth came out, the part they fixed! Austin says he doesn't know how..but it happened at school. Must have bitten down on something wrong...or wasn't fixed right. The dentist might have to do more extensive work to keep it in there. I'm doubting a crown right now..but who knows? Jill takes him back to the dentist Wed..I think.
