I know I should be posting this on the ToDays board but I just don't like that board. I just read that Drake H. is really leaving Days! I can't believe that. I saw the episode yesterday where he was saying goodbye to his family but I thought Stefano might come through with a miracle cure or something. I'm flabbergasted! Days without John Black? He's the whole reason I've watched that show. Apparently he spoke out about his unhappiness with his non-storyline so they put him in a coma for six months and then have him get hit by a car. I guess it's not a good thing to speak your mind in Salem. Anyway, I'll miss him. I love Drake. He's such a nice, nice man. I hope he ends up on Grey's Anatomy or Boston Legal or CSI.

I was flabbergasted--kill John Black off of Days? If I hadn't given up watching in disgust years ago, this would have done it. I was hoping that the Hogan Scheffer would have rejuvenated the show, but I watched some of his stuff and wasn't impressed. Now Ed Scott has been added, but it might be too little, too late.

I tried returning to the show with Steve and Kayla, but couldn't handle the changes made to both of them, and the lousy story that they were being made to play.

I see not much has changed with the morons who produce Days since I quit watching. I wish Drake well, I always enjoyed the character of John Black.

I hate that they are killing John. It was so sad yesterday and I imagine today will be worse when he actually dies.

I started watching the show off and on again when I got SoapNet last Spring. To me, it's the Sami Brady Show. It's all about Sami every single day. The rest of the cast are just there as props basically.

I am so done with this show. I tried coming back when Stefano returned but it is so dumb. It is Sami 24/7. And this new crop of teens is absolutely abysmal! I say they should bury the show with John Black.

I have been watching Days since I was 5 years old and have not been watching since September when school started because I use my lunch hour now to pick my son up from school...but decided not to bother Tivo'ing it because it's just stupid. I like Sami- but the storylines are getting outrageous. I had such high hopes when they brought Hogan Scheffer in but I have never been more disappointed in this show in my life! :(

I'm still shocked that they just let Drake go...and yet stupid characters like Max, Stephanie and the rest of the teenage/young 20 something year olds are still hanging around leading these shows.

I haven't watched Days since Carrie, Mike and "The Flying Bed", but I did catch a preview when I was home Monday or Tuesday of Marlena saying goodbye to John. :( I wonder if the reports are true that Days won't be renewed in 2009.
TV without DOOL just seems kind of weird.
I have heard a rumor that Drake is going to be joining General Hospital. I've googled and I can't find anything verifying it, but I could live with that if it's true.

If he went to GH I would watch it. After his funeral today I am out of DOOL. I will ceremoniously remove it from my DVR. I just wish they'd put that show out of its misery and cancel it already. No more DOOL for me.

"That's a fact!" John was overly dramatic sometimes with his facial expressions, but I loved his character and will really miss him on the show. I'm sticking to One Life to Live. I can't take the Samantha Brady Comedy Hour.

I think he'll return from the dead. Everyone in Salem does. I'm waiting for a grown Zack to show up. It was really sad when he died. I'm still a loyal fan of Days. Sami's our girl, my husband and I love her. I think she and EJ are hot together. Yes I know he's a rapist and all, but it's just a soap, lol.
I don't like when they bring back all the dead, it's used to much. If someone dies they should be dead. But in John's case, I want him back, goofy faces and all. Plus no one has a better hairy chest then John.

What is DOOL Thinking! They're making a huge mistake! I have been a loyal fan since VCRs were available and watching daily before that. I have traveled to meet and greets and charity events featuring Days stars. I have supported their causes for over 35 years. I have had the pleasure of meeting Peter Reckell, Stephen Nichols and yes, Drake Hogestyn. I have stuck with the show during good times and bad and have adopted the characters as part of the "Days of My Life". I have mourned the deaths of Steve, Marlena and Hope as if they were my family members. But I am about to give up on the show, having just learned of John's death. Are they trying to drive their fans away? Well, for me this is the way to do it. Drake is one of the heroes of Days, the kind of man many of us want our sons to be like. He brings courage, strength, intelligence, love, sensitivity and humor to this show - which will be greatly lacking without him. The show has always been about "family interaction". Somewhere the writers have lost sight of that focus, preferring to put the emphasis on tearing families apart. This is what is wrong with this country and this show. Goodbye to my favorite Days character and goodbye to the show. I cannot support a show without the "family" which was underlying in the storyline for all these years - with the help of Drake Hogestyn!!

Well said! The show needed to get back to basics a long time ago. They are too far gone to redeem themselves IMO.

I cried last week with John dieing I know it might sound strange but you get into a character and a storyline and I have been watching since the 80s so I know john and Marlena love story very well.
