Congrats to Sandra. They should have got rid of her instead of Courtney before they merged LOL. I think Russell played a smart game by getting rid of anyone who was a threat and it got him to the end again. He was also good in challenges but he made one big mistake - he forgot to play the jury. In his efforts to control the game he forgot to charm the jury so he turned everyone off. At the end of the day the jury votes for the winner not the American public. I think Pavarti played a good game as well. It benefitted her by aligning with Russell but she also stood on her own two legs by winning lots of challenges and keeping her idol a secret. Sandra played a game similar to last time. She sort of hung back and let other people be the target. She never seemed like a threat and it worked to her advantage especially since Russell rubbed everyone the wrong way.

Russell was right. The game is flawed. When you can win by not winning challenges and by not playing a key role in who is voted out, you don't really deserve to win, not in my opinion. It seems like winning comes down to who ticks off the least people. If they voted by who played the best and the hardest, Sandra would not have won either time. Parvati was the best player this year. She won a lot of challenges and made many key strategic moves, including giving Sandra and Jerri the idols. Plus, I think she's still pretty well liked by the other players. But, people don't vote with their heads, they vote with their hearts and their emotions, so the best players rarely win. That's the flaw.

On a side note, I found myself pulling for Jerri last night. She didn't play a great game, but she seems to be a much better person now. Maybe it's editing, but maybe she's matured, too. I'm hoping for the latter. It was nice to see she and Colby seem to get along, too, and she actually looked like she'd cry when he was voted out. After their first season, I'd have sure never expected them to ever get along, but there seemed to be genuine affection and/or admiration there and I thought that was nice.

I was rooting for Jerri after Rob got voted out. But then again, I liked Jerri all along.. lol.. I for one dont always agree with who the general public likes and dislikes. For one thing, I dont get the love of Rupert. He totally slammed Jerri into a pole in a challange and then said, "I didnt mean to", give me a break. he did mean to.
I also agree the game is flawed with people getting thier feelings hurt and voting that way. I never understand why people get so upset and take it so personally when they get voted out. Have they never watched the show? LOL..

Ha ha, and these are all people who have played 2 or 3 times, too! You'd think they'd be able to get beyond their hurt feelings.

I don't really see the love for Rupert, either. He was likable the first time around, but even then, he had his moments. He used his anger to try to keep people in line, namely Jonny Fairplay. And here he is, thinking he's such a good guy and calling Russell all kinds of names that one night, but then as soon as Russell came to him to try to align with him and Colby, Rupert was all for it! He'd sell out his principles so easily? Either he's the scum of the Earth and you don't want to have anything to do with him or it's just a game. You can't have it both ways.

Jerri has matured a lot since the first time she played which is good. I think it is only natural for people to get their feelings hurt but I agree that these people have played two or three times before so I am surprised that Russell did not get at least a few votes. I really expected Sandra to get one vote and then the other votes to be split between Russell and Pavarti. No one gets to the final 3 without breaking a promise or two.

Did Jeff ask them if they would have changed their vote after seeing the show?

I dont think so he asked if they would change thier vote.
I dont think JT should have won the stupidest move award, I think Tyson should have.. He screwed up the most idiot proof vote in the history of survivor. JT did not have all the information the viewers did and if he had been right, it would have been a brilliant move.

I think Erik should have won the dumbest move award by giving the idol to Natalie in that season.

I read an interview with Sandra. It sounds like she had a lot more talks with the heroes side. She also said that although Russell played a strategic game he did not play a social game and that is what hurt him. I said this in an earlier post, he forgot the play the jury. He made that mistake last time and he did not adjust his game this time around. No one is going to give someone who is a bully their vote and he can call them weak or whatever but that is how the game works. I think he is a good player because he controlled the game but he forgot to try and control the jury. Interesting interviews.
