View Full Version : Season 3 Ep 1: The Widow's Son in the Windshield
Preview from tv.com:
In the third season premiere, a skull smashes through the windshield of some teenagers' car while they're driving on the freeway. While examining the skull, Brennan and Cam find marks on it made by human teeth, which implies cannibalism. Identifying the victim, Brennan and Booth go out to investigate, discovering a weird cannibalistic society as they try to solve the case. Meanwhile, Cam tells Angela she should hire a private investigator to find her ex-boyfriend. Then she could annul her marriage with him and marry Hodgins.
Ryan O'Neal is listed as a guest star, so Max is back right off the bat.

That back drop at the end was so bad. The tech people could have done a little better, but that aside! Yay I'm so excited about this season. Good opener.
I agree about the backdrop. It was big time obvious.
I liked the 'kiss his hand' thing...
I would guess this is going to be the ongoing thing this season... straighten out the team. Remember when Booth said he thanked God for saving the team in the grave digger eppy?

Lol well it looks like you don't have to worry about him any longer.
And I loved the episode. Especially the coffee scene. Although you guys are right about the backdrop. But I think they started off well with Booth and Brennan.
They sure kicked off with their miniture killer-esque storyline early. It actually looks like it's going to be very interesting to follow. We will have to see how Hodgens consipracy theories pay off.
I'm glad they figured out some of the stuff about Angela. I hope the marriage can be dissolved soon and they can go on with their wedding. Although we may have to wait an entire season for that.
And how about the moment when Zack came in? It was awesome to see everyone get so excited.
Anyways I was very pleased with the premire. And I am very much looking forward to the rest of the season. :pinkyz:
I did not have my computer home last night, and when I saw Clark....I mean Sydney I about died. I am happy Zach came back and Clark is out. I agree, I love how everyone got excited about Zach "coming home."
It was so cute to see Booth practically beg Brennen to come out in the field with him...and when Zach came back and Brennen told Booth she wanted to go with him, he practically sprinted out the door with her.
Loved the scene with the coffee, as well as the scene in the vault when Booth thought they were gonna blow-up.
Good opener.
I wonder how many of us screamed "SYDNEY!" when Eugene Byrd appeared. ;)
I agree the back drop was irritatingly obvious, but the two "standing" shots looked like they were on set...it was like they either worried about the daylight or had only X amount of time to film on the DC set.
I noticed that next weeks episode has a satanic twist also.:devilish: I wonder if that is going to be the theme for this season.

May I say I was laughing my head off when Hodgins brought up the Illuminati. I just finished reading Dan Brown's Angels and Demons (as in Monday afternoon I finished it) and the entire book was based on the Illuminati. I'm so ready for Hodgin's conspiracy theories. This is going to be fun!
The only part that really bothered me was the Angela/Tempe exchange about Tempe not wanting to go out in the field. I felt like I had been transported to an episode of "Saved by the Bell." Left standing at the alter and not being able to handle it or something like that. :greener: The only thing missing fromt he scene was the school lockers and cheerleader uniforms.
Granted, I maybe a little more sensitive to Angela's dialog because the scene of Tempe and Booth standing there saying "What do we do now....?" was in the top two of my list of the cheesiest scenes of last year's network TV season. I'm all for the sexual banter...in fact I'm all about the sexual banter...but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. I just hope they don't ruin this show by making it all Will they, or won't they. We all know what happens then. :rolleyez:

LOL...no kidding!!! :upsideq:
I have just gotten interested in this show and I am watching the old episodes on the Fox web site. I probably need to rent some of the previous seasons, since it looks like just season three is up at Fox.

Definitely start from the beginning if you can! Bones is awesome. It's gotten stronger as the seasons have gone on. Season 3 has been really good. Welcome!!!
