Sources confirm to me exclusively that Rena Sofer is joining the cast of Bones as a potentially recurring love interest for — don’t shoot the messenger! — Booth.
The former General Hospital Emmy winner — who’s currently recurring on NCIS as a (possibly romantic) foil for Mark Harmon’s Gibbs — will be playing Dr. Catherine Klein, a marine biologist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration who has been called into the Jeffersonian after finding human remains inside a dead tiger shark. Sparks fly between her and Booth, and the two agree to go on a date.

I liked Rena in 24. I think she and Booth would make an interesting couple.
As cute as Booth and Brennan are when they're together, the show isn't going to work if they're sleeping with each other (I don't think anyway). I think it's good for them to have other love interests. And I'm not sure that Booth has had one since Cam (if you consider that more than just an affair).
