No scoop that you hear from anything but "Another World" itself can be considered official or 100% reliable. Not my scoops, not SOD's scoop, not TVGuide's scoops, nothing. It's all second- and third-hand information. Sometimes false scoops are released to keep the viewer in suspense. I've tried to keep these scoops fairly accurate, but everyone is fallible. ;) If you want to send me a scoop or something of interest, e-mail me and I'll add it.

The Princess Bride
Jean Passanante and Leah Laiman have proven that they truly do love me! They've given me the ultimate Cupid's Day gift -- a little good, old-fashioned honesty. Sparky proves he is the smartest apple on the tree when he kindly suggests to Alli that she should pay a visit to her mother's beloved soon to be husband. Alli's wandering by just in time to overhear a conversation between The Moron and Dozie. They're talking about how happy Cameron is, and how much he loves Amanda. He even has some nice things to say about Alli. Alli decides that maybe Cam ain't such a moron after all, but as she's walking away, she overhears something that would have been best left unsaid -- Dozie finally admits that the Little Nipper belongs to the Big Dipper.

Alli doesn't know WHAT to do. On the one hand, she would give ANYTHING to get the SpamMan out of her mother's life. On the other hand, her mom really seems to love this guy. She decides that her mother needs to know, even if it means that her mother WON'T dump the chump. She is trying to tell her mother, but Cam wanders in. Alli is so disgusted with him she can't even look at him.

Alli's streak of bad luck continues. She keeps trying to tell Amanduh, but keeps getting interrupted. Finally, she goes to Rachel. She keeps dropping hints that something is up, but like her vacuous daughter, Rachel completely misses the point. She keeps getting foiled at every turn, and the next day is the wedding!

On the day of the wedding, Alli is even more uncertain. Her mother is supposed to get MARRIED today, but Alli has news that could destroy those plans for her. What's she going to do? Desperate, she goes to to the chapel to ask for guidance, but finds Sparky instead. (Apparently he's one of Amanda's hundreds of guests.) He tells her that if she knows something important, she should tell her mother, even though it will, without a doubt, ruin the wedding. Alli leaves the chapel to go look for her mom, but finds Cameron instead. He assures her that he loves her mother very much, and that he will never hurt her. Alli has a few choice words to say, but Cameron proves he deserves to be called The Moron -- he completely misses her point. Alli heads back into the chapel. The wedding is about to begin!

Amanduh is ready to walk down the aisle to join her prince, but Alli wants to talk to her first. Without wasting any time, Alli tells her mother what she overheard, and begs her not to marry Spameron. The little lightbulb over Amanduh's head flicks on, and she realises she's been lied to for months. Amanda calls off the wedding, announcing to all and sundry that she's finally realised that when she kissed the frog, he didn't turn into a prince -- he turned into a toad.

Gary hunts Amanda down, wanting to know why she called off the wedding, and Alli, who is hurting because her mother is hurting, takes off to go to some seedy bar, followed by Sparky. Later, she is caught in the middle when Amanda and Dozie get into a verbal battle of wits. (Three guesses on who wins, and the first two just don't count.) Apparently Amanda hasn't bothered to tell anyone WHY she stopped the wedding, only that she's not marrying the jerk. Dozie and SpamMoron are both worried that someone will finally let Gary in on the secret. Poor Spameron's not off the hook either -- Gary would be very interested in finding out why the wedding of the century never happened. With Amanda hurting so much over Cameron's betrayal, she's easy pickings for "David Halliday", who decides he'd like to be there to comfort her, and figures he should continue his quest to "find" his dead wife living inside Amanda.

The Monster Squad
Grant and Cindy are working their tails off to make sure that MarLie doesn't spill the beans, continuing their threats/abject begging. Vicky is still trying to convince Grant that she and Jake are on the rocks and that she's looking for his big, strong arms to hold her. Grant's not quite sure she's being honest about her feelings, so he devises a few tests for her, all of which she manages to pass with flying colors. He soon reveals a few interesting tidbits about about her kidnapping.

Cindy isn't convinced of Vic's undying love, and tries to warn Grant about it, but he won't listen -- soon, she has proof of their plan, but will she tell her scheming ex? Grant decides that the natural move is for he and Vicky to get much, much closer, but luckily for her, Jake saves her just in time. Unfortunately, Vic isn't finished, and her next plan could have dangerous consequences for her.

Scoops Section #3
The Lost Boy(s)
Remy has decided that Tito is lying about his relationship with Paulina. Joe and Paulina try to work through their problems, but Tito is still between them --well, not literally, since Paulina is having trouble finding him. Paulina decides to tell her close friend Remy about Tito, then decides it's time to tell the rest of her family. After all, Matt and Amanda just might appreciate knowing that they have another nephew wandering around Bay City. (Wouldn't that make Tito the second oldest Cory grandchild, unless Maggie's older now?) Tito might be in a bit of trouble when Remy has some uncomfortable questions for him.

Scoops Section #4
Not Without My Daughter
Amanda's not the only Cory having relationship troubles this week. Matt's marriage to Lila is still on the rocks, but right now he's got bigger things to worry about than the newest member of Cheaters Anonymous (Dozie is the current leader) -- he's beginning to think that maybe his family is right, and he has been Luminized. He starts investigating Lumina's interest in his family, and joins the ranks of "People Who Drop in to Visit Sparky Unannounced" when he decides he has to ask Sparky a few questions.

Matt's not the only one of Lila's lovers who's obsessed with Sparky. Cass is doing his best to make Sparky miserably, but unfortunately, he continues to be haunted by the "ghost" of his dead wife. When Felicia finds out about this, she starts to think that maybe the years of celibacy since Frankie's death might have warped Cass' mind. That would explain his infatuation with Lila. When Cass and Matt get into a confrontation, it threatens Matt and Lila's already precarious marriage.

Casting News

Keep an eye out next week for Brooks Rogers. Rogers, who played Dr. Lacey on the popular soap opera "The Edge of Night", will be making a surprise appearance as Rev. Wilkins, the man who WOULD have married Amanda and Cameron if they walked down the aisle. Rogers hasn't worked much in the last few years, except for a couple fairly unknown movies, and a few guest shots on the popular NBC night-time drama "Law & Order".

Fact or Fiction?

Lately there has been a rumor floating around that "Another World" has definitely been axed. As far as I can find, there is no truth to that rumor. AW still has a chance of being cancelled, but so does SB. This information, which originally showed up on the MediaDomain message board, was supposedly from something called the "Bay City Spoiler", but managed to make it around to a number of people who have never even visited the boards (as evidenced by the number of e-mails I received about it). Since I can't even find any record of this "Canadian Internet program" it's fairly safe to assume that the "Bay City Spoiler" does not exist, and it was a false rumor.

Looking for AW Stars?

Victoria Wyndham and Charles Keating will be pairing up again. No, Carl is not coming back to Bay City. On March 27, they will be performing "Couplets" at Plays & Players in Philadelphia (call 215-735-0630 for more information). on April 23, they will be performing "Love Letters" at The Players Club in New York (call 212-475-6116 for tickets and details). And on April 25, they will be performing "Between Ourselves" at the Improv Club at Danny's Restaurant in New York (call 212-861-0879 for reservations).

There will be a softball game going on June 5, 1999, at Midwood High School Field, Avenue K and East 16th St. in Brooklyn, NY, that will be raising money for Shorefront Friends for Hospice, a non-profit charity organization. There will be a number of AW and OLTL stars present, including
Rhonda Ross Kendrick, Mark Mortimer, Jonathan Sharp, and Lisa Peluso from AW, and Erica Page, Patrick Mauceri, David Fumero, Jason-Shane Scott, Erin Torpey, and Don Jeffcoat from OLTL. The gates open at 11:30 am, and the game begins at 12:30 pm. Tickets are $10.00. E-mail JKW810@aol.com for information on the event, and a mailing address to send the cheque or money order to.

And as a reminder from last week, don't forget to set your VCRs to catch your favorite stars.
Lisa Brenner (Maggie Cory #5 and #7) will be on "Turks" on February 18th. Brian Krause (Matt Cory #6) will be on "Charmed" on February 17th. (Check your TV guide for times/air dates in your area. I know my area NEVER airs anything when it should.)

Quotable Quotes

We've got two this week. First Etta Mae manages to use part of the word "Passions" and the word soap in a quote, then Lila steals a few lines from Ken Starr's Clinton report. ;)

Etta Mae (to Sergei): If they want passion, they can go home and watch a soap.

Lila (to Cass about Matt): I will swear under oath that I never had sexual relations with that man.

AW in the Ratings

For the week of February 5th, AW was sitting nicely in the ratings at 2.5. The ratings have stayed pretty much the same for the last few weeks, ranging between 2.4 and 2.8.

Rants & Raves

Rants: Okay, just how dumb is Grant? He's supposed to believe that only mere weeks after being rescued from being kidnapped by Psycho Sis AND knowing that he's a total sleazoid, Vic suddenly can't stand being around her husband and has to go gnawing at his bones? Oh, puleeze. I've seen brighter people on 90210. Cameron truly deserves to be called SpamMoron this week -- did he really think that Alli would fall for his trap? She's fifteen YEARS old, not fifteen MONTHS old. Remy needs to get off her high horse and make up her mind. Is Tito the spawn of Satan or isn't he? One second she's telling him to get out of her life, the next second she's going out of her way to help him. She's starting to get as annoying as Dozie. Speaking of Ms. Valium, she's getting more and more aggravating. "Oh, gee, my personal life is in a tizzy...rather than actually tell the truth for once in my life, I will continue to let people get away with [attempted] murder." Like letting Dr. Hale get away wasn't bad enough? I would give $50 to see Dr. Hale come back to Bay City when the baby is due in June and spirit the little one away in his baby-napping ring. THEN Dozie would regret all her lies, misdeeds, and mistakes. Alice Barrett Mictchell, it was fabu to see you again, but PLEASE, don't be Frankie. That would really ruin this month for me, and it's already been fairly lousy. Och! Bawlina, you are starting to aggravate me again. For ages and ages now, I have liked you (interesting platinum blonde do, by the way -- did you and Jensen get your Clairol boxes mixed up? you've got HER hair now, and she's got yours!), but you're treating Joe like garbage over YOUR mistake. I recall a "no more secrets" and a "total honesty" conversation a LONG while back. Did you forget about it? In a general rant though, where the heck was MarLie this week? I LIKE MarLie.

Raves: Good thing Vic is more...human than her husband. (I hate the way they're writing Jake these days -- JERK is far more appropriate a name for him.) She knows that there had to be more to it than just Psycho MarLie, so she's looking into it. I'm totally loving Tito though. There is so much potential for this character, AND this storyline, that it truly amazes me. Cindy is always a treat, particularly when she's with Dozie. It becomes SO obvious at those moments that Dozie is a few barrels short of a monkey. Even Matt is watchable these days. I never cared for Matt Crane in his original run, but he's so much more interesting now that he's been Luminized. It's nice to see that SOMEone in this whole sick affair is thinking about Jasmine, because obviously her mother and Cass aren't even concerned with her. It was great to see Miss Allen again -- I love this character. She and Cass had real chemistry in their brief scenes together, and I have to admit, I wonder if she was ever more than Sparky's assistant. Last but not least, Gary. Although I don't think the character has a brain in his noggin, he gets a special rave for being the best husband in Bay City.
